Works well
I made sure to follow the advice of other reviewers who'd suggested pre-heating it with a damp towel in a clothes dryer. It did in fact come out limp and pliable, so I quickly straightened it out and left under a heavy area rug, so that it would cool in straight shape. After that, I put it where needed and then taped it down with "Match 'N Patch Realistic Repair Tape, Dark Walnut", one length of tape on either side, such that the gray color was not visible at all. This tape was a great match to our wood floor, so the concealer is almost invisible. The tape adhered to it very well, but could still be removed without adhesive residue for adjustments, etc. After a year of thinking how to get it done, this cord concealer and tape finally let us to connect our powered reclining sectional in the middle of the living room to a wall outlet without unsightly cords running across the floor. Very happy with the result!

Tremendous quality, tremendous price
Needing to run my hoses and power cords from my bedroom across the hall to a closet where I stationed my oxygen compressor, I bought this strip so people wouldn't trip or snag and unattach me from my lifeline. I wasn't sure what to expect considering the very low price. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. This floor strip is seriously heavy duty. It's composed of very thick rubber. It's wide enough to create a nice gradual slope rather than an abrupt hump. And it's made to last. I didn't end up using the double-sided tape that came with the strip, which is supposed to be attached to the strip's underside because I figured it would soon come loose and cause a trip. Rather, I bought some tape that matches the wood floor and taped it down over the top side. This way, one can also sweep dirt over the hump rather than having to sweep each side separately. In any case, it worked fantastically and I'm totally satisfied. A note: the strip comes in a roll, so you must unroll it and set shoes or weights or anything old thing on top of it overnight to flatten it out before installing. It also can be shortened with a good pair of scissors or razor knife. Great cords strip. I'd by again any day.

so it is packaged in a way that makes perfect sense. Second
I have read the many complaints about the cord concealer being difficult to straighten due to packaging, yet I did not find that to be a problem. First, the product is 6 feet in length, so it is packaged in a way that makes perfect sense. Second, the product is good quality, so the material is somewhat thick (as compared to cheap, breakable material). That being said, it will take a little effort to uncoil the product prior to being able to install it. Third, the solution to uncoiling the product and making it home/office ready is simple: (1) Place it on the hood or the dashboard of your vehicle for an hour or two on a sunny day. I did this, and it worked great. (2) Place it in your clothes dryer for about 20 minutes. After either of these methods, the product will be heated enough where you can straighten it to your desire. Once I did this, the product works perfectly. It does exactly what it was designed to do, and it sells for a good price.

Functional, if difficult
I got four of these cable concealers for ethernet (cat 5e) cables running across my floors to prevent people from tripping over them, and to protect the cables (stepping directly on wires will fray them over time). The cord concealer arrived coiled in a box, along with a roll of double-sided foam tape. Let me tell your right now these things are LONG. Longer than most people are tall, and if cut properly probably 2-3 doorways worth of coverage, or one small to medium room.First, the good: I ordered these mid-august, and as of mid-october they're still holding up great to moderate-heavy foot traffic. If you're worried they're flimsy or won't withstand people constantly walking over them, rest assured, they're amazingly well-made. However, the thickness and toughness of the material leads me to my first problem...These strips are made of VERY THICK rubberized plastic, and retained the coil from the packaging (they're coiled with the cord-opening facing inwards). Initially I assumed this coil would come out within a few hours of straightening the concealer with weights. It didn't.After several days of leaving them weighted down in indoor AC conditions (~75F), the coil STILL had not come out, to the point where the concealers would, when not weighted, spontaneously re-curl. Someone suggested that heat might make the curl come out of the concealers, so I placed them in my garage (summer in the southern US meant the garage averaged above 90F/30C), and again weighted the ends. A few days of this finally took the curve out of the concealers, and they now lay flat under their own weight. If you have a second pair of hands available, the provided tape will hold the concealer against its curve, however you will need to cover most, if not all, of both sides of the length you're using (the bottom of the concealer has a split running lengthwise to let you put the cords inside) with the provided tape.I used the tape on regular-length carpeting, and the tape has held fast in high-traffic areas. It's incredibly sticky, to the point where pulling it off the pad of my finger was mildly painful. I can imagine people with shag carpeting might have some problems, though. This is where I had my second problem: there is not enough tape provided to for the full length of both sides of concealer. If the concealer material didn't have such a strong memory and didn't actively fight the tape, this wouldn't be a problem, but if you don't have the heat to take the curl out, you're going to need about two to three times more tape than provided to use the entire concealer. The concealer has a large cord area, and I'd say you could comfortably put three of those orange heavy-duty extension cables inside, and maybe up to four or five if you crammed them in there.Cutting the concealer to length WILL require a serious cutting tool, or a lot of patience. I managed to *barely* get through this thing the first time with a brand-new pair of scissors, and after that I used tin snips. Box cutters or xacto knives probably won't be able to cut this stuff. It's tough to the point where I'd be comfortable using it in a garage. In summary, solid product, does exactly what I needed it to and has held up incredibly well over the past months, but if you're not able to extend and weight the concealer in heat, this product may not work well for you.Five stars for quality of product, minus one star for not providing enough tape and minus another star for this product being nearly unusable without significant effort and conditions that may not be available to everyone.

How to flatten this cord concealer: A tip that really works to uncurl this cord cover!
How to flatten this cord concealer: A tip that really works to uncurl this cord cover! As several other reviewer's reported, this cord concealer is very resistant to flattening out. I tried another reviewer's tip of immersing it in hot water. It flattened the less curled end, but the curl persisted for the inside half (the more tightly curled section). Then I remembered a tip I use to get wrinkles out of vinyl tablecloths. I put the concealer strip in the dryer with several dry towels. I ran the dryer for probably between 10 and 15 minutes. When I opened the dryer, the strip was quite warm and somewhat limp. I immediately laid it out flat on the kitchen floor. I walked on it to make sure it completely flattened and let it cool. Now it is nice and flat! The cover works great to protect against tripping in an area where I have to cross a walkway with a lamp cord. I am very happy with my purchase.
