Microsoft Impact Messenger Bag for 17.3" Laptops (Orange Trim)

I was searching for a large laptop bag that would fit both my HP 17.3in. laptop AND my iPad. I ordered 4 different bags, and decided this was the best option. I also compared the Microsoft Edge Messenger Bag and two Targus messenger bags. I couldn't tell from the reviews if they would fit a 17.3 inch laptop AND a tablet at the same time. They all were able to fit them both comfortably in the bag.The Microsoft Impact won for several reasons. It had the nicest design, basic look, but plenty of storage and very fuctional. It has a professional look that looks classy but is affordable. The Microsoft bags are bright orange on the inside which could be a bit much, but the color really helps separate items and made finding things much easier than the black fabric in the Targus bags. It is well padded and both my laptop and iPad are well protected in the bag. When I recently traveled, it also had enough room for my laptop, iPad, phone, all the cords and chargers, my iPod, a few DVD's, camera and battery, and several books with room to spare. I also really like the water bottle pocket on the side.The only thing I am a little worried about is that the plastic handle, clips for the strap, and clip to close the bag all seem like are cheaply made and they could possibly break over time. I wish they were a little more heavy duty. However the Targus bags didn't seem that much better in this regard.Overall though when I compared this bag to the others, it was the hands down winner.

I’ve had my Microsoft Impact Messenger Bag for 17.3” Laptops for a couple months now so I think I’ve got enough experience with it to write up a meaningful review.I like this bag. I purchased this from Amazon along with a Samsung Series 7 Gamer laptop. The Series 7 Gamer laptop is ginormous and this bag holds it very nicely. As a plus, the orange interior and accents on the bag go perfectly with the Lamborghini orange (Samsung calls it yellow) of the laptop. I don’t carry much else in the bag beyond the laptop, its power brick, a gaming mouse, and a mouse pad. That’s not to say that the bag won’t hold more, but this laptop weighs a ton and when you include the power brick that weighs somewhere in excess of a Smart car, it’s allot to carry. This does bring me to another thing I really like about this bag: its shoulder strap. Would I like humping my rig through an airport? Well no, not really. But could I without needing traction afterwards? Yes I could. It’s a good, reasonably wide, padded strap that helps distribute the weight. I think this bag looks great too. My only complaint, and it’s a small one, is that I would like to have been able to snug the front flap down a little tighter. It’s a tad floppy when closed and locked, but I suspect that is more a factor of the messenger bag fold over form design than something specific to this bag.

I really like this bag. I am a traveling office and take my laptop everywhere I go and this bag works really well. It has enough room to fit my 17" laptop, cord, mouse, and even my laptop cooler as well as a few pens and other small items. If I didn't have the laptop cooler I could easily fit a few files in here or a magazine or two. I rarely use the side pockets but they are nice and if you wanted to keep your phone or something else in them you would have easy access.This also has a lot of nice small pockets and compartments where you can keep disks, USB drives, Ipods, etc. and if you are a traveler it has a tight strap on the back that fits over the handle on your rolling suitcase and keeps the bag securely attached to your rolling luggage. This is a nice feature because when you are in the airport or walking into the hotel you won't have to lug the bag around on your shoulder. So far it has proven to be very durable and when it does finally wear out I hope that they still make them because I will be buying another just like it...

This bag is awesome! The variety and versatility of the pockets is outstanding so you can place different items where you need/want them. The orange lining make it easy to find what you are looking for as well. I have used this bag every day for the past 3 years and it's hardly worse for the wear. Plus it can hold A LOT OF STUFF! A LOT! I have had my 17 inch laptop, a school book, an iPad (the thick, brick original version), an Apple Keyboard, various letters and papers, a boat load of chargers - iPad charger, dedicated hotspot charger, personal cell phone charger, work phone charger, two Bluetooth headset chargers, and my Jawbone Jambox charger - and a bunch of smaller knick knacks like thumb drives, pens, highlighters, sharpies, etc. inside of this bag all at one time. It was quite heavy as you can imagine but the bag has stood up to it all time and time again. It's also nice when it's not that full because the bag itself is light; increasing the comfort when carrying those heavy loads it can accommodate. The shoulder strap helps with that as well because it is also very durable and comfortable. If I had to sum this bag up I'd say it was: light, durable, versatile, and spacious. I personally like the look of it as well. I would highly recommend this bag and I would buy it again if and when this one ever breaks down.

Bag has an endless amount of storage pockets. Made with Great quality materials.I love the Orange interior and it fits mt 17.3" laptop perfectly.
