Thank you honey for my great Christmas present!
If I would have paid more money I might have given this projector 4 stars because it does this white flash across the screen about every other minute. At first I thought, nope this things going back. But after watching a full movie we decided that the pros out weighed the con. We really barely even notice when it does it now. We've read reviews that said if we unhook the HDMI cable it would stop the flash thing but we decided we liked the picture to much in HDMI. The picture is really very nice. Especially since we moved up from a 480×320! The speakers that came internally are plenty loud enough for just 2 of us watching. But my husband hooked our sound bar up to it & now it's party ready! We can watch it in a only semi dark room which is something we were worried about. We haven't had it long enough to have an outside movie with it, but I am excited to give it a go next summer! It has met all of our expectations so far & we would definitely recommend it to our friends that don't have $500 to drop on a projector.

Nice quality for reasonable price!
I was looking for a budget projector and read a few of the reviews that made me take the plunge. I'm happy I did. I'm viewing on a white wall in our bedroom and the picture is crisp. I think that there is some confusion about which model buyers are talking about with regard to this product since there are two models sort of both represented on the Amazon page. The larger/higher resolution version is quite impressive for the relatively low cost. The text I see is quite readable and the picture is plenty sharp. I'm watching hockey among other things and it is pretty sweet for that purpose. It's adequately watchable in the daytime but is quite impressive in a dark room. If you're on the fence, I say go for it.

Do not buy - pay for a refurbished unit of a better projector instead.
This review is for the larger projector (~230$ pricepoint). I packed it up and returned it within 10 minutes of hooking it up. There is no manual zoom or focus so all I got was an incomprehensibly fuzzy image even when trying the user manual's provided distances. Aside from that, even if it did work perfectly, the materials felt really cheap and this thing was ridiculously LOUD - there is no way I would have enjoyed gaming or a movie with this thing blowing in the background. You will be MUCH better off buying a refurbished model of a more reputable brand of projector. I have purchased refurbished benQ and Vivitek models for 300 and 200, respectively, and have been much more satisfied with those.

Rather Lackluster
I read some decent reviews and it wasn't a bad price so I figured I'd give it a shot. Terrible idea. I hooked it up and seemed alright, but I couldn't get the picture fully in focus. I tried turning it all the way both ways and playing around with it, but some part of the screen was always blurry. While it was somewhat annoying, it's something I could eventually get used to if need be. As soon as I started to watch a TV show though, I noticed how awful the quality was. It says it's 720p, but it doesn't even look like 480p. It honestly looked worse than watching a dvd quality movie on a nice TV. I thought it may have just been my cable box, so I tried using the blu-ray player to see if that helped any, but it was just as bad. I played with the settings and it helped a little bit, but I just couldn't get past the quality. They shouldn't advertise it as a HD projector when it clearly isn't. I immediately regretted the decision of buying this, but luckily Amazon has pretty great customer service and gave me a full refund for it. After doing a bit more research, I ultimately decided on spending a bit more and getting the Acer H5380BD. It's about 150 bucks more on Amazon, but I found it from someone else for only 399. I'm still waiting on it, so I can't comment on the quality, but all the reviews were quite excellent. It was even named the top project under 500 bucks by The Wirecutter. While it may be a bit more expensive, it's better than wasting 300 bucks on a sub-par product like this.Overall, if you're not bothered by a dvd quality image, then you'll probably like it. But if you're like me and you can clearly notice difference between dvd quality and HD, then stay far away. Definitely look into spending a little bit more, it may seem like a lot now, but more rewarding in the long run.

I was and still am impressed!
For the price, u can't beat it. Got to my house fast and was easy to setup. I've used this thing already for movies, games, and for my kids school work. If u have never owned a projector before and want a good entry level setup, this is it. The only thing I guess I don't like is that at times the fan can be loud, but its not terrible.

... cheaper reviews so it's hard to tell what is good quality and what is bad
Product uses same pictures in its expensive model reviews as it does in its cheaper reviews so it's hard to tell what is good quality and what is bad.

Put it on the Wall
For the money this project rocks. Wish it could take a feed from my phone's data rather than having to use alternative methods to get it to play. But the picture is very good and works well enough even in medium level light.
