Erotic Manga: Draw Like The Experts Paperback – 3 Aug. 2006

It have delivered to my house with no damage package. I love the book to learn to draw with it.

Quite good if you're into this but gone to the charity shop now.

I'm slightly disappointed with this book, but only because it's not quite what I was expecting. I would have thought that, for a book on erotic manga, there would be much more technique tuition and a tight focus on how to draw intimate areas as well as couples engaging in sexual play.Instead, this book is actually extremely coy. Focusing almost exclusively on women, the most explicit it gets is bare breasts and buttocks. It is divided into sections - including 'professions', 'horror' and 'fantasy' - and each section looks at particular stereotypical character, from sketch stage to finished art. As I said before, almost every drawing is of a woman, and 95% of the time she is on her own.There are a few 'tips' which accompany each drawing - varying in helpfulness.I gave this book 3 stars, but its usefulness to a reader really depends on what they're after. I wanted more instruction, more focus on anatomy and more couple interaction, so I feel a bit misled by the book's description. (Forget manga genitals, there's not even a kiss in this book!). However, if you draw/would like to draw rather soft-core porn ladies with large breasts, this would make a great reference book for your bookshelf.

I will rate this as a 4 out 5 star. I am new at drawing manga but this is helpful in learning new ways to draw erotic anime but I wouldn't in any way lean on this book totaly to teach you to draw manga. Additional books would be required in my opinion to learn the bests of how to draw basic anime like people and objects in general. But over all a great book and I defo recommend it to be added to any manga drawers collection.

Really interesting book, I am learning the art myself, great introduction to the art and an excellent narrative, good start

This was a good book for drawing manga art the drawing examples were laid out well and erotic nature of the drawings were tame, but a good introduction to learn to draw varying poses of mainly women. The other books in the series Draw Like The experts are all laid out pretty much the same in that they focus on one drawing for around five pages or so seeing through that design from initial concept sketch to the actual finished inked and colored piece which is a great way of getting you to draw this type of stuff.Drawing manga can be difficult, but this book and many others like it require a good amount of concentration and study to get a handle on the forms and body structures presented.I recommend this book.

Ive just received this and am already very impressed with the content and format of the book. I have several books on the same subject by Japanese authors and whilst they are good guides to the art of manga this book is in a separate class. I really think that this is a book for the more established artist as it does not give a great deal of time to technique. It does focus on theme, composition and lighting. The illustrations are excellent and they are presented in an uncluttered way which i found quite inspiring. This is definitely good value for money considering the cost and the number of pages. A very good companion book to The Monster Book of Manga.

I wanted to learn how to draw EROTIC drawings. This means, I wanted some of the psychology behind eroticism and why certain poses, certain movements and such, evoke arousal.This book in a nutshell "Give her big boobs, because that's sexy! Now stick her ass in the air! OH AND PANTIES MUST BE ON SHOW!"No explanation as to WHY.No explanation of erotic situations, or when erotic is appropriate or inappropriate. According to these lot, if she has big breasts and looks uneasy, then it's boner-time.There are some nice drawings in the book, and they take you through a step-by-step process in IMAGES, but they were conservative with text and the text there doesn't actually EXPLAIN anything other than WHAT they're doing. No mention of WHY.It's not erotic; it's pin-up and I certainly did not learn to draw like the experts, because there was nothing in the book to LEARN.

I bought this for my wife for our anniversary, so far she's seemed to like it. The book is full of examples of sexy scenes built from the ground up, from your sketch to a finished, coloured piece. Along the way there is some help and insight, and some interesting tidbits about Japanese Manga, in this case, the erotic kind of manga.If you're looking for detailed instructions on drawing men or womens' 'tidbits', you're better off looking through an anatomy book, or google, there isn't really anything on *that* anatomy. Like the cover says, it's 'erotic manga' not something more explicit.If you are a fan of the 'how to draw manga' books, then I recommend it. As a growing artist you may find lots of helpful hints, as an more experienced artist, you may just find some idea fodder for your next project.

Ok, but not enough drawing technic demonstrated.

A good manga art book to draw inspiration from. There isn't anything really erotic about this book though, so beware if you were looking for something a bit more explicit (You Perverts lol!) I liked the good solid drawing tutorials that walk you through and give you ideas on drawing the characters in many different ways. The direction of the book may get a little bit samey, but it's a good book and I highly recommend it! 5 Stars!
