I don't see why not :) I use it to cut potatoes, beets, and carrots all the time

Can this be used on butter to provide a garnish appearance for pads of butter?

Possibly if the butter was cold, it may have a nice appearance. I use this for cutting soap, so I haven't used it for foods.
