Buying and Maintaining a 126 S-Class Mercedes Kindle Edition

There was so little information in book form on this car when I first became interested in the SEC's. I did all of my research online, but that is not good for the eyes. I craved something in book form and here it is. I will say two things.1. I wish I had this two years ago! It would have helped me greatly.2. Even now, after two years of research, this book is beyond helpful. It is jam packed with information that I can use. Each page gives me something I was not aware of.Today everything seems expensive. That is what happens with the "free" internet but some things are worth paying for and the information in this book is just that. Well worth the money.

I usually don’t post reviews, but I felt that I have to leave a review for this book! The author of this book is very knowledgeable about w126 and he explains this car from A to Z. If you own a w126 sedan or coupe, you definitely need to have this book. It gives you information about stuff that you were never aware of such as rust points, electrical and vacuum connections, interior and exterior parts, fluids, and etc.... very good book and the quality of the print and papers is very high.

Whether you are seriously considering a 126 chassis Mercedes or have been a long-time owner of one like myself, this book is indispensable. Nik Greene catalogues the various and sundry maintenance issues that need to be addressed in order to minimize their long-term impact on the vehicle so you may maximize your enjoyment of it. Providing numerous detailed photos along the way, he explains how to access these areas, and what should be looked for and performed if necessary. From seals to drainage ports and electrical relays, to greasing sunroof rails and learning to properly remove door panels without breaking the tabs, the reader will become intimately familiar with his or her 126 car as a result of owning this book.

A very cool and useful book. The only issue I lacked, although I have a good guide on sunroof maintenance - along with many other excellent tips - was on the care and treatment of the side windows and their mechanisms. Really enjoyed.

I like these things and it came it very handy. There wasn't too much I did not like. I will say I will order again if available.

Extremely comprehensive. An absolute must for any enthusiast looking to take on the task of owning one of the best vehicles ever made.

This is a really fantastic book. Everything was very well researched and explained, and there were plenty of details and pictures throughout the book. The W126 is an incredible piece of engineering, and this book shows you how nearly everything can literally be taken apart to the last nut-and-bolt, cleaned or rebuilt, and put back together. This book does a really good job of showing you how to find, buy, and maintain one.

Absolutely a must have if you own a w126 or planning on purchasing one. Tons of useful information with an emphasis on useful. The author explains things in a way that is understandable. It is obvious that a tremendous amount of research has been done. A must have for an enthusiast written by an enthusiast.

What can I say except "WOW". I bought this book not really knowing what to expect but as soon as I started leafing through the pages I knew I'd got probably the most valuable resource for my newly acquired Mercedes C126! This book has all the issues that these cars experience documented in great detail with good photos and brilliant advice on how to fix things - who knew for example, the exact number of the paint I need to make the dashboard needles the correct colour again!I seriously can't recommend this book enough for anyone who owns or is thinking of buying a W126/C126! I may even order a second copy so I can have one in the car and one in the house!

I received this today. I haven't read it all. It's packed with useful information. What I have read is clear, informative and written in an easily accesible style.Great for me as I have long owned W 126 S Classes. Hopefully for those other marque owners Nik Greene wil produce a book for you too!Update: Having read further there are a couple of issues. SEC 5060m long p31 4935mm long p213 (Seems pedantic but I have a very tight garage, and detracts from the authoritative nature of the book.) Plus a few more typos. Not sure who proof read this book. BUT there is even more useful info than I first thought - the author clearly knows his 126's inside out - literally.

This book is full of practical information for anyone who owns one of these cars. It will provide interest for the owner with no mechanical knowledge to a fully-trained mechanic (or should I say motor vehicle technician nowadays?) and everyone in between. I have had my 126 for less than a year and am still learning about it. This book is a valuable part of my toolkit.It contains information on the model's history, what to look for when buying, preventive and routine maintenance and repairs. There are clear explanations accompanied by colour photographs. It is printed on good quality paper and will look good on the coffee table in the lounge.I am currently half way through reading it. From what I have seen up to now I would recommend it to all 126 owners.

Just received my copy and among all the buying guides that I have in my library, this one must be one of the most comprehensive, well written, generously illustrated.It certainly becomes the "go to" book for the topic (W126 S Class Mercedes) and for me, sets a high bar, a new standard, for anyone thinking of doing a specific model buying/maintenance guide.Very well done.Cannot wait for the next book.

Had the book for over three weeks now, it's become an invaluable asset to assist maintain my 3 x W126's. Really appreciate the level of detail in "Routine Maintenance" section. Book has given me the impetus to take on jobs that really needed to be done. Quality of illustrations and pictures are impressive. Wish I had access to this book when I took on my first W126,
