is the insulation sleeve plastic or rubber?

The red part is a durable plastic. It is not brittle. It stands up to abuse very well. The yellow part is softer. Feels like a hard rubber and offers a good grip.These are good quality tools. I use them professionally as an electrician and prefer them to most others I've used.

I think they are German made, however they are one of the better quality products available. The tips take a lot of wearing. I have used other products like CK. These are better. Good luck
