Color me happy!
I'd bought the earlier model of this stereo for my wife, the 50BT. She loves it, and uses the Bluetooth daily for handsfree calling in her mini-van with her Samsung Galaxy S2. I have an old 84 Chevy truck which is quite noisy. I had a nice Sony AM-FM CD in it, that I'd bought from Amazon. It was a great stereo, but didn't have Bluetooth. I'd looked at Bluetooth headsets, but hate those ear-pieces, and a Blue Parrot is about the same money as this stereo is, and I really don't care for wearing a headset either. Since my wife loves her JVC stereo so much, I decided to buy this JVC KDX250BT. It arrived today. Usually, Amazon is very fast delivering to me, but this took longer than normal to arrive; 11 Days! I swapped it out with my old Sony today, and installation was very simple. Once it was installed, I turned on the Bluetooth on my Samsung Galaxy Note II and hit "Scan". Instantly, it recognized the JVC stereo, and the stereo recognized it. I simply pressed in on the stereo volume knob, and the two paired up instantly. The phone asked me if I wanted to share my contacts list with the stereo, and I clicked okay. I mounted the stereo mic up on my steering column, about a foot away from my face. I pressed the stereo "Phone" button, and used the volume knob to scroll through my contacts list to get my wife's number, and pressed in on the volume button again to have it dial. Even with my old 6-banger engine running, my wife had no problem hearing me talking, using the stereo's basic settings. I adjusted the stereo volume to better hear her. Simple as that, I was set. I love this thing! After testing out the calling feature, I used my Samsung's stock media player to try out streaming music to the stereo. Immediately, I was getting music through the stereo, and it sounded great. Someone mentioned this stereo not having good AM-FM reception. I did not find that to be the case at all. It immediately tuned in to my local stations and played them perfectly. So, if you do have trouble with radio reception, I'd say check your antenna. I have a upgraded antenna on my truck that is better than the old factory one mounted in the windshield, and I am getting great radio reception. All in all, if I was in the market for another stereo, I'd buy this one all over again!

Great unit for the price
This unit is great. I have been using it for weeks now on my daily driver. So far I have not lost connection on bluetooth. Phone calls sound crystal clear. And the external mic works great as well. Everybody says that they can hear me very well. Radio stations work fine. I play music via bluetooth from my cell phone and they sound awesome. I have yet to use the USB connection so not sure how well it works. But over all this unit is great. Sound quality is superb. I recommend to anyone and would definitely buy again.Update 3/3/2021I used the usb port to play music and it worked great. Still love this unit.

Works gret
Car: 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis. The stock radio was just that: stock. AM/FM, and that's it. I wanted something I could connect my phone to so I could listen to music and some radio apps. I was originally looking for something with just an AUX jack, but I ran across this, with Bluetooth, and figured that this was cheap enough to give it a try, and maybe not have to have another wire oozing down the dash of my car.I bought the Metra 70-1771 harness as well, and that makes installing SO MUCH EASIER! You do have to solder the wires on, but if you can handle a hot glue gun, you can solder. Anyways, popped the old radio out, slipped this one in, and haven't had any problems with it. Radio reception is excellent (better than stock, anyways), and the audio quality isn't bad. I won't say it's exceptional, because I'm using the stock speakers, but it gets the job done. It definitely sounds good, don't get me wrong. I just don't have the equipment to say it's exceptional. There are a few (minor) issues, though: by default, it comes up in "Demo" mode. Tuned to static on FM, with the beep enabled. It's a bit annoying.Bluetooth takes ~20 seconds to connect with my phone. Not really a major issue, but I wish it would connect a bit faster. If you don't need a CD player, this works great, looks great, and sounds good.

Great receiver, no CD
If you order this expecting to play CDs on it when it arrives, you're going to be disappointed. This unit does not have a CD player but works well as a digital media player. Since that's what it's sold as and what I bought it for, I have no complaints. The Bluetooth integration works perfectly and I confirmed shortly after installation that calls made with the unit sound good to the person on the other end. Streaming music and podcasts from my phone work perfectly and sound great. Another reviewer said the radio didn't sound as good as the factory system, I haven't noticed this on my unit. Some caveats to keep in mind with this unit:Bluetooth calls will require you to run the included mic and cable to a convenient place in the car. That portion of the installation took the longest for me.You'll most likely need an installation kit to fit the factory radio slot. Why they don't make them standard single or double DIN is beyond me.Depending on the car you may also need a factory interface kit. I couldn't find one on Amazon that would work with my car but my local Walmart had one made by Scosche for ~$50. It's too dang expensive for what it is but if you want the receiver to work you may need one.My mounting kit came with two ears that could be used in place of the DIN sleeve, but neither the kit or the radio came with the screws needed to use them. I used the DIN sleeve but the ears would have been my preference.I needed an antenna lead adapter to go from proprietary Chrysler antenna lead to the standard. That was $5 that I wouldn't have needed to spend if the OEM had just used a standard connector. Standards are good, that's why we have them.Again, no CD player on this unit. I don't think I've used a CD in several years so it's not a problem for me.
