Second one
I have had the same machine for 6 years. It runs an average of 4 hours per day 7 days a week. Some days for 8-10 hours other days 0. Until the last 6 months it was fairly quite, but it is running at the same time as other machines so it is hard to tell sometimes. It finally just quit producing and holding air last week. Could not find anyone to repair it, so went ahead and ordered a new one. Was told it would arrive in 7 days, then told it was delayed. It showed up 4 days early, so it only took 3 days to get hear. Delivery guys were good.

Quitest compressor ever
The compressor is very quiet and works great. Easy to set up and move around. Too bad the cabinet cooling fan is so loud. Not that it is obnoxious, but it is now the loudest thing and on all the time. I bet they could find a quitter fan. Still, WAY better that any other compressor I have heard. Can not comment on long term reliability but for 15-20 hours of use it has worked flawlessly.

No box or wrapping, delivered late, dented, broken and much more
Delivered front panel all dented and scratched up, all 4 wheels broken off. I had to buy and install 4 new ones myself. There was no wrapping, packaging, box, instructions or anything at all.I was going to get it replaced, but it's so big and heavy and it took over 2 months to get delivered. Too much of a hassle.Other than that it does work, but side door panels don't really seal tight and can still hear and feel a lot of vibrations.

Can only run for 1 hour per day.
I don't see it on the page here, but the manual says it should only be run for one hour continuously. I assumed that meant that the compressor shouldn't cycle on for longer than one hour. That is not the case. This device is meant to be powered off and depressurized daily. I've never known a air compressor that is not meant to be continuously powered up. it is very quiet though.

No louder than a mini-fridge
I needed a quiet compressor for our quiet engineering office. The California Air Tools compressor runs according to spec. Yes, it is very quiet. It sounds similar to a small mini-fridge when the compressor kicks in. Otherwise, there are cooling fans that run continuously while the unit is powered up that sound similar to a tower computer. A delightful change from my pancake compressor! Nice product!

Great Until It's Not
This compressor is a great machine. Great specs all-around and basically whisper-quiet. Unfortunately, just over a month out of warranty, our machine started spitting out metal shavings. That seems bad. And of course it's not covered. For a $1000 air compressor, I'd hope to get more than 18 months out of it. Contacted California Air and they stuck to their guns on the 18 months warranty. This thing is big and heavy, so realistically you can't ship it anywhere for repair. Hopefully you have a local place, but you're still going to pay 1/2 the value of the machine to get it fixed. This happened under VERY, VERY conservative use, indoors.

So quiet.
The packaging was substandard as the other reviewer points out. But it is incredibly quiet. It works and none of the panels were broke. Took too long to deliver for prime.I had first ordered one of the other California air compressors for an office. It was too loud. This one with the cabinet is perfect. But I cannot attest to how long it will last.
