Worth the price after a little tweaking
Was going to give a 3 but it really is better than you'd expect for the price. I added some washers under the tightener nut and that fixed the biggest problem I have with it. Don't expect the scales to be precise and don't think it's sturdy enough to use as a pry bar, but it isn't so flimsy as to break under normal use. Works as advertised once the washers allowed it to be tightened properly.

Not Bad
Takes a minute to get it going right but it works

good idea, poor excecution
If this tool had metal fasteners, it'd be a 4 star. If the whole thing were heavy anodized aluminum, it'd be a 4.5 star. If the bars were not so wide as to make it impossible to replicate small brick cuts, it'd be a 5 star. I'd pay $40-50 for that tool. Now, don't get me wrong, this tool is fairly handy. it does a good job of locking down and staying where you put it. the nut side of the fasteners have a pair of tabs that ride in slots on the under side of the bars to keep them from turning. This is another area for improvement, as there's a detent-like setup at the end of the bars to lock the joint exactly in the corner(good idea) but you have to loosen the fastener up enough that the tabs slip out of the slots to get it to unlock out of the corner. Also, one corner is permanently captive (as in a round hole separate from the slot) which is kind of a pain. I moved the fastener into the slot.I'm building a brick dome oven, and I purchased this tool to help with the archway opening and chimney landing area. I ended up having to use the inside edges of two of the sides and the outside edges of the other to replicate the brick. it worked, but I wish there was a smaller version or that the bars were not quite so wide (they're around an inch). unless you're using the inside edges, you'll have a hard time marking out even a medium angle wedge cut on a brick.long story short, I'd have to think very hard about buying another one.

Who would've thought something so simple could be so awesome! A definite "must have" in your tool box
Who would've thought something so simple could be so awesome! If you're like me, I have lots of tools and gadgets. Many of these tools and gadgets are left over from special projects (putting in wood floors, cutting tile, putting up moldings, etc). I've already used this a handful of times and I'm so glad that I had it. There are so many ways to adjust this that it may seem complicated - it's not. A definite "must have" in your tool box it you like to work on many types of projects requiring odd-shaped cuts or measurements. For the price, I wish it was metal. Pretty sturdy plastic though.

A little flimsy, but was cheap enough I wasn't expecting much
This is a handy little jig that is good for crafts and home improvements in situations where you may need to cut more than one angle on something to make it fit. It does the job, but it was very cheap to buy and it shows in its construction. The plastic is just sturdy enough to work properly to mark lines, but don't use it as a guide for a cutting edge to follow, it is not stiff enough. The knobs tighten the joints enough for it to work, but the threads are a bit rough, there isn't a feel of precision to it. All in all, it worked for a couple small projects, but if I were in a business where I would use something like this frequently, I would want a sturdier one. All in all, for the price, it can't be beat. We used it to fit the last couple stones around our fire pit, and it was great for that. However, it doesn't give me a lot of confidence as far as longevity goes. Saved us a lot of time, though, to get all the angles right. While it does work, it follows the line you get what you pay for. If anyone makes a similar jig out of metal, I'd be interested in knowing where to find it. The concept is actually quite good, I just wish it were sturdier. I think if you dropped it off a ladder, it would likely break.

you may be disappointed as it comes in a clear bag and came ...
This is a review of the General Tools 836 Angle-izer Template Tool.Measures 250x50x6mm (L x W x H)(Great for the carpenter, handyman or person who does do it yourself projects.)Summary – They sell these on those TV commercials for at least 2-3 times the selling price of one. If you planned to buy this for gift giving, you may be disappointed as it comes in a clear bag and came with no instructions. You can also just do an internet search if you have questions on how to use.In terms of construction, it is extremely light weight and does come over with a cheaper feel when you handle and use this. The knobs are plastic but are a good size and easy to adjust. The plastic is stiff and will not be ideal for any task where a bend is needed.I am going with 3 stars. It is a great product that does work well, yet I do not feel this is high quality based on the below.I also am not confident it would hold up to frequent use based on how it is constructed.Knobs could be rubber coated.Adjusting hardware could be a metal or at least the post of the knob and bottom sliding hardware. The markings should be labeled. Ex. CM, MM, Inches. This should come with a detailed manual.

Great handy tool
I wish I had this when I was just doing a kitchen floor that had a lot of weird angles. This is a great little inexpensive way to measure the angles and get them cut correctly. I guess the pros must all have these, but I'm a weekend warrior with these projects, so sometimes I'm not aware of every tool out there. With this tool you can get a "template" sort of for every cut you have to make. It really works well. It's not expensive and it will pay for itself by saving you from having to throw away incorrectly measured cuts. If you have to do any sort of flooring or any odd angle cutting, you'll love this thing.

Pretty handy tool!
I am a novice learn-as-I-go DIYer. I used this tool to replicate angles from an old child's rocker that was my adult granddaughter's when she was a toddler. Now her two toddlers have solid handmade rockers that should last through another generation or two, if taken care of.The photos are of the original chair and the pair made for the great granddaughters.

Good basic tool.
I've seen these type of angle finders advertised and now need one, but only for occaisional use, so I bought this slightly cheaper version. Never-the-less, it has proved to do the job perfectly well, and I had the chance to compare this one to a metal angel-iser and there was no different in use or accuracy, so this is a really good cheaper-end tool that will last a DIY-er for years.

I have it but it feels like a child's toy not a tool
have yet to actually use this properly...I think I was thrilled by the possibilities and then realised I don't have patienceto support using this properly! It is so time consuming to set it up to the right shape it ends up being easier to fillin awkward gaps with silicone :)I should point out that it is extremely flimsy and lightweight it being 100% plastic - it doesn't feel like a regular use tooland I feel I'm going to break it or throw it away as a non-item!

Very disappointing purchase
Poorly made and totally unusable when it arrived. The connecting bolts are too long so that it is impossible to tighten them up to lock the angles. Made by a firm called Fixit which I think must mean fix it before you can use it. Great idea very poorly executed. I will either have to shorten the bolts or place washers under the screws.
