WRP2 is a must for students
This was hard for me to grasp since I am tech illiterate. But my 6 year old niece who is a voracious reader, mastered it in short order. She uses it to read books above her grade level and get definitions on unfamiliar words. A great idea!

The concept was sounded good.
This pen didn't always work the way it was supposed to. Sometimes get the word and sometimes it didn't the voice was low. I didn't find this pen helpful at all. The concept was sounded good.

Of no value for needs necessary.
This item purchased for a person who is about to lose their spouse to illness and can't read. Family is so worried about how he will cope. Researched this item and gave it a chance. However, if one can't read very well, and doesn't have someone with them to help with the instructions - or error problems - it's useless. So many menu's to navigate that one needs to read - it defeats value of products intention. As a translator - it may work better - but not as a reader. In addition it only reads the words correctly approx. 60 - 70% of the time. So disappointed - we had to send back. It may have older uses - but not as a reader for those with difficulties. Amazon was outstanding with the return.

This seems to be working well for my 5th grade student. She has no difficulty operating it & changing settings (e.g. voice volume). It is not perfect, but it is the only completely 'portable' - not dependent upon having instant access to a computer - assistive technology text-to-voice device that I have found.

Phenomenal
Such a help for people with disabilities or anyone for that matter. To read and not have to totally focus especially with head trauma, dyslexia, headache etc. This is a tool that levels the playing field. Some words may be misrepresented but it is a minor amount. The pronunciation, and dictionary for the word you may not know is invaluable.

I purchased this for my parents to help them pronounce words better or correctly
Very hard to understand and it takes practice to control the speed (how fast or slow you scan words and sentences) and where to place the pen. I purchased this for my parents to help them pronounce words better or correctly. It would have been a good tool, but the when playing back the word, it was almost impossible to understand.

Hard to understand the Wizcom reading pen
Scanned words sound like an unclear robotic voice. I bought the Wizcom reader for my son, but the scanned words sounded garbled. A friend showed me her reading pen, a C Pen,when I scanned the words with the Cpen, the words sounded clear, unlike the Wizcom. I bought the Cpen, unfortunately only after the Wizcom was out of its thirty day return policy. So I bought the Cpen, and now my son uses it...but now Im also stuck with this Wizcom.2, which no one uses..
