Huck Lace Weaving Patterns with Color and Weave Effects: 576 Drafts and Samples plus 5 Practice Projects Review: Excellent book for weavers interested in color and weave and/or huck lace - This book contains a treasure trove of patterns for anyone interested in looking at the possibilities of weaving color and weave fabrics on a huck lace threading, or indeed for weavers already hooked on huck lace who are interested in moving beyond the customary monochrome approach to huck. Note that although there are short sections in the introduction that discuss the structure of huck lace and explain how to read the drafts, this isn't a primer. Neither is it really a project book, though five projects are included at the end. The book is primarily a swatch collection, and as such is beautifully produced, with a color photo of every swatch, and color drafts that make it easy to see what's going on with both warp and weft. Each color combination explores huck in all its variants - weft floats, warp floats, weft and warp floats, and lacy squares. And it's spiral bound, as all reference books should be, with an outer jacket that covers the spiral so that it won't scratch up the books sitting next to it on the shelf. Kudos to Tom Kniseley and Stackpole Books. Review: Easy read - As a beginner to weaving this book has been a great aid. The color pictures help to see the how different a pattern will look. Huck weaving is a great addition to the selection of projects that can be made. Great add to the library.

My Towels Turned out GREAT
I just finished 10 of the Huck towels. My first set of 3 I did the three patterns shown. Was a bit concerned that my project on the loom didn't look like the pictures but I knew I did them right. Liked them well enough I tied on an extra warp of 7 towels and finished those up too. Have now hemmed all and washed the initial three - the difference between washed and unwashed was pretty dramatic. I had 13 to 15% shrinkage in length and width and my final patterns turned out exactly like the sample pictures. Loved the education around the various patterns and how color could make such a big difference. You can play with these patterns and colors for a long time!

Love this book!
Everything is clearly written and easy to follow. This is one of my staple pattern books now. After checking this book out at the library 3x, I realized I would be using it so much that I should just buy it, so I did. Very happily weaving now! I hope he comes out with an 8 shaft pattern book soon :)

Layout good; easy to understand.
Colors used are a bit wonky/weird/unfun, but they did show show the weave structure and color & weave effects. A great book to have in your guild library!

Encyclopedia of 4-shaft drafts
A weaver’s treasure! Straightforward standard drafts. Exemplary illustrations. This book will stand in place of my other huck lace reference books because the drafts are not buried within the myriad of “projects” which I have no use for. This book presents hundreds of lovely 4-shaft drafts in an encyclopedic format. Sometimes I simply want a lace weave cloth for my own purposes. Here is my one-stop-shopping source for just the structure I’m looking for. I hope this becomes a standard format for other weave structure reference books.

Tom Knisley is the best! All his books are wonderful! Spiral bound helps pages lay flat. Color photos are great. Great pattern book!

Loved the book. I bought the kindle version. It’s fine and works well. I still wish I had bought the physical book, but I couldn’t be bothered to refund/reorder.

Sounded great, but disappointed because it is only for 4 shafts - and there was nothing indicating this. Having pictures showing the results of the different colour and light combinations is good, but that is only if you don't have a good understanding of colour combinations and light (values). Overall, very disappointed with the book.
