Crankbrothers Mallet MTB Bike Pedal

I have been using these for over 3 years. At a rough bike park I had one pedal blow out a bearing. Keep in mind I hadn't done much preventive care before the failure. Lesson learned. I got a refresh kit and took them apart to get them going again. Problem was part of the bearing was stuck in the pedal. Some local bike shops turned me down on working on it. Crankbrothers had me send in both pedals and fixed them up like new, besides the physical scrapes and scratches. Two things with the pins, the opening for the allen key can get deformed and I wish they were thinner but that would mean a redesign for the whole pin. Not a big deal. I sometimes like to be clipped in and sometimes not. Great, durable pedals and super customer service.

Better than any spd! Locked in for downhill, but easy to clip out when you need to.

Works great and the DH offers more support.

I use these pedals on my work patrol bike. Even when I don't have my bike shoes on, they are comfortable to just jump on and ride with other shoes. Often with clipless platform designs riding with regular tennis shoes still puts an uncomfortable pressure in the ball of your foot from where the mechanism pushes into the sole of your foot. I do not get this feeling at all with these pedals. Clipping in and out with my bike shoes is easy and works great.

Great pedals. Had been using the Mallet E for a couple of years now, and wanted to give the Mallet DH and they just deliver. Bigger platform for more confidence even when unclipped. Would definitely buy them again.

Good if you don't step out much. I switched to 0 degree float cleat for an easier release. I still had a little trouble with quick release so I switched to platforms and am so much more confident! If you are on the verge, go with platforms!

These pedals are like standing on a piece of granite. Absolutely solid. They hook up well with cleats and are easy to disengage. A bit heavy but who cares when going downhill.

Just as described. I already have a pair that I've been using for over a year and a half and love them, so I purchased a new pair for my fiance. He already threw them on and also really likes them. Solid pedals, and highly recommended!

Moin, Ich habe mir diese Pedale und die 5.10 Hellcat fürs Downhillen bestellt. Lieferung erfolgte innerhalb von einem Tag und die Pedale sind sehr Hochwertig verarbeitet. Am Anfang musste ich (als klickpedal neuling) etwa 30minuten rumprobieren um einmal in die Pedale reinzukommen aber nach einer Zeit geht das ein/ausklicken ganz einfach. Von mir eine klare Kaufempfehlung!!

Gran producto. A mi gusto mucho mejor que el sistema SPD. Además el hecho de tener plataforma, te permite apoyar bien el pie sin necesidad de ir encalado. La única pega es que cuando están muy nuevos, cuesta soltarse de los pedales
