Come What May

Lively set of originals by Redman and cohorts - including Reuben Rogers on bass whose career with Charles Lloyd seems to be paying off with multiple guest appearances elsewhere these days. You can sense this is a band having fun; the icing on the cake being a very strong performance by Redman who plays with notable verve and range. The music reminds me of our very own Josh Arcoleo’s debut album ‘Beginnings’ - which is well worth a gander given its current price on Amazon (less than £3 last time I looked). The only disappointment with Redman’s offering is the bare minimum playing time: 43 minutes leaves this particular listener feeling a tad ‘short changed’.
