I'm Picking Up Bad Vibrations
As others have said, this device appears to be very high quality, but in my case the difference between it and the standard clips that came with my mics, in terms of shock isolation, is minimal. I use a pair of these with Schoeps CMC64 small diaphragm condensers mounted on a Shure A27M stereo microphone adapter on a standard K&M boom stand. The stand sits on a thick rug atop a concrete slab floor. I record acoustic guitars from about a foot from the microphones. The problem I was trying to solve with these is that if I tap my foot on the rug even lightly -- and even with socks on -- the vibration is transferred audibly to the microphones; this unfortunately remains the case, only very slightly reduced. This could be due more to the sensitivity of those particular microphones, to my particular rug, the stand, or other factors. I've used different microphones with shock mounts over the years in other rooms, including one for decades with a sprung wooden floor, and have never before experienced this level of sensitivity to floor-transferred vibrations. The bands are much stiffer than, say, the elastic bands on a Neumann U87 EA87 shockmount. I can't say for sure that this factor reduces efficacy, but I would suspect it might. My other niggle is the tight threading on the 5/8" connectors. Tight threading is usually a good thing because it makes for a solid connection; but getting these to mate with the Shure stereo bar can take an inordinately long time. This of course could be due to the Shure, I don't know.I wouldn't buy these again, but rather look for something with more elastic suspension bands. As always, YMMV.

The best!
This product is one of the best mounts I have ever used..period! The mount is made of metal and will last several life times. Simple design with high grade materials. I will buy several more in the months to come. Bravo!!!

Great for my RODE NTG-2
Well built, like other Avantone products I have. Even though I use mine in a studio, it's build looks like it would hold up well in the field, for boom poles. A pretty good value.
