It works!
The small fits my average six year old. There is some bagginess in the crotch area but it otherwise fits well and she loves the feel of the fabric.

Torso is not long enough.
While the unitard is well constructed and otherwise well-fitted, it is simply too short in the torso to be worn comfortably by my average height child.
