Easy fix, exact fit, saved me lots of $$$
I have a fairly troublesome attic to access, where my upstairs furnace lies. While I change my air filters regularly, once every few years, the furnace doesn’t consistently fire up, so I’ll go up into the attic and with a pipe cleaner and a toothbrush, and clear out any buildup or spiderwebs that may prevent adequate gas flow or heating of secondary igniters. However, one evening this winter, I noticed that the heat had not turned on at all, and the upstairs temp had fallen by 5 degrees. Checking the activity log of my smart thermostat, it “thought” it had been on continuously for the last 10 hours, when it was clearly off. I did my usual cleaning and turned it back on, expecting it to work just fine, but I saw the igniter never heated up. Big problem. I had no idea if it was the electrical system or some other issue. Fortunately, I had a two-zone, two HVAC system, so I removed the igniter from the other system and moved it to the bad one, and the HVAC system worked fine, so it was the igniter. Taking a closer look at it, I saw there was a break in it. It finally failed after 26 years. Since it was winter, and I wanted it to be fixed immediately, but didn’t know how specialized or common this part was, or what it was even called. Eventually I figured out it was called a surface igniter, and did a search for it at Home Depot, Lowe’s, Outdoor Supply Hardware, and ACE Hardware. None of these chains carried this igniter. I found a specialty HVAC part supply store that carried it, but they only sold to contractors, not to the public. Grainger appeared to carry it, but they are closed on Sunday. Since I was fortunate enough to have swapped the igniter from my other unit into the one that handled the bedrooms, I could wait until the next day to fix it, so I ordered the Duralight as it appeared to be an exact copy of my broken part and with the plug pre-installed and appeared to match the plug on my broken part. More importantly, it was available to arrive between 4-8 am, so I could receive it and install it before the start of the day so my spouse could work from home in comfort. It arrived before dawn, and I was so happy to find out that it was a perfect fit. It exactly fit the igniter bracket of my furnace, and the plug was an exact match. I installed it in less than 5 minutes, tested it, and it worked great. I immediately ordered a back up igniter so I would never have to wait and be at the whim of shipping times or the hegemony of contractor-only part stores. So happy I was able to troubleshoot and fix it for the inexpensive cost of this perfect fit igniter, without having to call a repair person, who likely would have charged 60o to 800 bucks to crawl into my attic to troubleshoot and replace a $25 part.

Good replamcent igniter for your Rheem furnace
Used this to replace an intermittent igniter. The old one measured in excess of 200 ohms. The new one is about 150 Ohms. works just fine and ignites straight away. Recommend for replacing in your Rheem furnace. DURALIGHT is recognized quality brand so hopefully will last as long as the original part.

Savings, and more Savings !
exactly what i needed and it works great, saved myself over $400.00 just in the product cost and so simple i saved even more from me putting it in, instead of the most likely minimum $200.00 service call.

Great product, easy fix
Originally bought this exact product on Jan 2022. Lasted three years. I replaced it with a less expensive Robertshaw brand item that lasted one year. Went back to this brand. Arrived well packaged. First two pics are of the Duralight. The last pic is of the old igniter.
