Use features like bookmarks, note taking and highlighting while reading Totally Tubular '80s Toys. Review: A must have! - Great book for any 80s toy lover. A must have! Review: 80's toys forever! - I have waited for a book like this for a long time and my prayers have been answered! It is not intended as a be-all-end-all compendium, but it does cover a VAST amount of the toy lines from the 80's. The author really did his homework and it shows. There is a serious amount of information to digest (which is never a bad thing). The photographs and layout are also fantastic. There are great little side bars peppered throughout the chapters that add additional depth to the subject matter. As a vintage toy collector I definitely recommend this book to collectors and nostalgia junkies alike.

Like jumping in a DeLorean and reliving my youth...
If you grew up in the 80's you know exactly why that was the best decade to be a kid. Thanks to the Reagan administration lifting FCC regulations we were treated to one of the most commercially fertile and creative periods in pop culture history and one we are still mining for entertainment today. This book is filled with tons of wonderful photos of the cream of the crop of 80's toys, games, puzzles and fads. From Alf to the Rubik's Cube, to E.T. to Cabbage Patch dolls....virtually everything there was to love about that decade is represented here. A wonderful journey through an explosively creative time filled with colorful and memorable characters.

This is an ok book, but like anything... you have had to been there, you missed out on Big Toy Stores and playing “outside” and getting bruises and scrapes by staying out there till dark.. those days are long gone. Ruined by tech, anxiety and corporate greed.

Fun book for 80’s toys
Blast from the past for sure for all my 80’s toys!!! Does not do super detail of any given series but rather a highlight to the toys for a given year throughout the 80’s. Fun book! Enjoy!

Worth it!
Worth the premium price! A nice sized book with large color photos on every page but also tons and tons of info. Each page holds memories galore! Love this book!

FOR MALES ONLY.
This book should be appropriately titled and described. It's clearly written by a man, who showcases WAY too many toys for boys from the 80's. There will be 3-4 pages filled with individual action figures and then 1 picture of a Barbie. He should have collaborated with a woman if he wanted to market to both genders. Not only that but the book is hot pink. Very strange. I have a brother close to my age, so there were a few toys I saw that he had, but overall I didn't get that nostalgic feeling like I have with other books on the subject. The other problem is that it's written from a collectors perspective. There are many toys featured (mostly Star Wars, Star Trek, DC and Marvel) that I don't think were particularly popular during the time frame. Of course, these toys are interesting to a collector, but for a regular person who grew up in the 80's, I can imagine many people would think "I didn't own any of this". So much more could have been featured in place of what is in the book. Many pages are wasted featuring pictures and pop culture references that have nothing to do with toys. It's not like we need a reminder that Dirty Dancing came out in the 80's. For what it is, the book is great. Very colorful and well written. The only problem is the title and description are misleading. The contents are not what I expected and are very disappointing for a girl reader.

A fun trip down memory lane
It was just as my title suggest, a fun trip down memory lane. However it was too quick. Once you get through all the pics, you kind of realize how shallow the overall book is. I saw this at an antique show and was thrilled to look at it but decided not to pay $25 for it there and instead bought the kindle version. Glad I did because I was quickly done with this and felt like it could have done a bit more to go into detail about some of the toys pictured.
