there are going to be parts of the story that you like and parts that you don't like
When it comes to a book series, I feel that it is wrong to judge a book individually. Each book is just a small piece of the pie. With every story, there are going to be parts of the story that you like and parts that you don't like. You have to judge the series as a whole. The "Holding Their Own" series by Joe Nobody is an exceptional series. The characters are believable and the author portrays them in a way that has you longing for the next book before you even start reading the current book. Like all things, the series will have to come to an end one day. The Salt War continues the harrowing story of Bishop and his family and friends. For most of those reading this review, they have been with this series since the beginning. This book continues the great story that started in book one. For those who are reading this review to decide whether to get involved in this series, I would say don't wait any longer. Every book is worth the price. Some other books in this genre, spread out a series longer than necessary and make the books short and charge more for each book. This series does not do this. There's nothing more to say. Get the book, get the series.

Enjoyed the book
I enjoyed the book and learned a couple of survival tips, but the book did not have the same feel as the earlier books lost steam) As with the last book (this one though better than the last) was just a filler. I hope the author in the future series goes into more scenarios of how craft skills, common sense, decency, and a good work ethic can not only help a person survive, but also to build a better community. This was done in the previous books how about elsewhere?Still looking forward to more books from the author.

Joe Nobody--- Damm, what a read !
I didn't want to write a review of any of the "Holding Their Own" series by Joe Nobody until I had read them all. I wanted to see if a thirteen book series could hold my interest. I'm glad to say that Joe's series was like reading one book with thirteen chapters. The last was as good as the first, they were all page turners, and all rate 5 stars+. You knocked it out of the park Joe! ..........Nobody's better.

Excellent! Joe Nobody is back
Really loved this book. It made me remember why I loved these stories so much. I did not like the story previous to this one at all. But I do love all of them before that one. The characters are likable and believable. People will identify with them. The story has plenty of action, and the plot moves along at a good clip. Human nature is portrayed very clearly. I like books with clear cut heros. We live in a world that truly needs them. Thank you Mr. Nobody for providing them. And please give us more of Terri and Bishop, and the rest of the characters!

Another Joe Nobody classic
Holding Their Own is definitely my favorite series of all time, and Salt War fits right in their with the rest of the series. Bishop,Nick and the rest of the gang do what they always do, and keep us on the edge of our reading seat. The ending was amazing! I can't imagine that the series needs to continue after this one. If this is the last book of the series, I will miss the characters, but feel satisfied that Joe Nobody has concluded an incredible work without writing books just as filler. Thanks Joe for another great story!

Once more into the breach for poor Bishop & Terri et al...
I know you hear this a lot from me but here it goes again...if you like the other Bishop books, you'll like this one too. He & Terri get into a situation & it doesn't look like they can get out but of course they do. I think this one also branches with a side story about Nick, Bishop's Green Beret buddy. It's good to see Nick out on the prowl too.Buy the book, you'll enjoy it like the rest of the series.

Good book, good series
Good book, good series. The quibble I have is in chapter 9. Grim gets schooled in the ballistics of a .308 round. An SF guy doesn't know all of that, even if he wasn't the weapons sergeant? Impossible. I realize the author wrote that dialogue for the benefit of the readers, but that's quite a stretch. A little weird. It doesn't take anything away from the book though.

Another Joe Nobody book I'm glad I bought
Joe's writing has gotten a lot better over the last few years - I guess it's all the practice! As a continuation of the Holding Their Own series, this book is pretty good in my opinion. The story line had enough twists to keep it interesting, and unlike some of the earlier books, Joe doesn't keep cutting out of the main story line to cover things that would otherwise be happening "in the background". It flows a lot better and keeps the story focused on the characters and actions at hand.

Small group politics in small wars lesson learnt
Brilliant as usual. Insightful about how prejudices play out and feed on themselves. The politics of small group power struggles throwing good lives after bad. Classic study in what to avoid in that scenario. Joe writes to inform and entertain does both well.

etaient excellent.
