Strawberry Red Licorice Laces - 2 Pound Bulk Pack - Chewy Candy

It's really hard to find good old fashion shoestring licorice. So that's a huge plus with this purchase. But then add on top of that it was super fresh -- and a nice size bag for the money. Definitely will be getting again.

Terrible. Not one redeeming quality. Odd smell, tasteless, oily residue, thick, texture is off, no elasticity. Do not buy. I am disposing of mine after only a few bites.

This is the third brand of red shoe string licorice ice bought and the best by far. The flavor is perfect and the texture is nice and soft but not so soft that it's mushy. You can pull apart the laces easily without breaking the chain. I'll definitely buy again.

This came in a ziploc type bag with the licorice in another bag inside. The licorice was extremely hard and not soft as it should be. I’ve been buying Gustaf's licorice for along time and this is not the quality that I usually get. It doesn’t even say Gustaf’s on the packaging but it is advertised as such but I doubt that this is. It doesn’t smell like licorice and came in a big clump, very hard to separate the pieces. Unfortunately it says I cannot return this so now I’m out the cost and no edible product. DO NOT BUY!!

Always start out with the positive.The coloring was spot on what I remembered from my younger years. Also, the laces had just the right amount of texture & pull. They didn't feel too gummy, it was great. Laces are meant to be tied into a ball at some point of ones experience. They have succeeded in this as well. The price was not the best but I've been known to lay out $$ when something is great.Now for the only thing NOT positive.... The flavor. If this is Strawberry, it’s A pretty SOUR Strawberry. I've tried it at different times of day/evening... Still sour. I probably will try another brand but probably not Gustaf's again. So if your between say 40 to 100, this is a fun candy, unfortunately it is NOT the laces of my childhood. Makes me sad to have to say that.

Love this brand. Always fresh and tasty. I’ve tried others that are waxy and or tasteless. These are the kind we used to buy in the 60’s. (Yes I am old).

I would give this licorice zero stars if possible. I tried this licorice as a cheaper alternative to the licorice I usually order. Beware— you get what you pay for! The licorice was stale, tasteless and greasy. Further, the licorice was cut into small inch long segments— perhaps due to the stale condition of the licorice. Threw out the entire bag. Yuck!!!!

Love Gustavs strawberry licorice laces. Always fresh, smells and tastes like strawberry. The only problem is I like to order the 3 2lb. box and they have become unavailable and the price keeps increasing.
