I added about 20 drops of peppermint oil and then mixed with water and I can barely smell it at my desk. I’ll see again tomorrow when I go back to work I may need to add more oil. The color changed immediately after adding water, and then a little darker after adding the oil. I’ve included both pics. It is super cute and I’ve already gotten tons of compliments. My calendar in the pic is a mini one for size reference. Update, day 2 the water is gone and the owl is almost back to white. The peppermint smell is much stronger but not overwhelming. Very nice. I got this as a gift for my wife’s office. She loved it. Simple, clean design that she said was just enough cute without being whimsical.Since it was a fox she used a woodsy scented essential oil, cedar wood. She then added some tangerine essential oil which has a distinctive orange color. She figured the color would bleed into the ceramic and Voila! an orange fox that smells very relaxing in her office.FYI, she did a 50/50 mix of oils and water. She thinks next time she will do slightly more oils to up the overall aroma given off by the little fox.Great product!

Its great for a small area. I have it next to my bed and will probably get another for the bathroom. Note the different sizes of the pot. I wanted a different animal but the pot that holds the water and oil was smaller.

This is the perfect little addition to an office and would make a great gift for anyone - the fox is adorable and it holds a decent amount of liquid (I fill it [no water added] and only need to add more every few weeks). After several months, my office still smells nice every time I walk in. Note that I'm using natural reed diffuser oils I got from a local shop (if you're around Manassas, VA stop by Calico Jacks!).

I absolutely love my little fox! It came very well packaged and was super easy to put together. I have this for my cubicle at work and it is the perfect size for my desk. My only concern was how much essential oil it calls for. Half a bottle of essential oil?! No thanks, my job doesn't pay me THAT good lol but I had read a review before I bought this diffuser that said they just put the essential oil directly onto the cotton wick so that is what I did and it is perfect! The first day I didn't notice a very strong scent, I think the ceramic needed some time to absorb the oil. Day 2, I came into work and WOAH the scent is amazing! I have a small desk fan and I am actually keeping my little fox in front of it to help blow the scent directly to me because I love strong scents but some of my co-workers are sensitive to smells. This diffuser is perfect because you can only smell it if you are sitting at my desk. My fox did change color on day 2 like some other reviews but that doesn't bother me at all. The last two photos are of the color change with and without the flash.

This is such a nice, cute product but not that effective with scent. I used a medium grade essential oil and could smell that but as it was first use it was sucked up fast. Next I tried same quality of oil with some water as it suggests in instructions and it didn’t absorb or give off any scent. I have not tried with an expensive super strong oil yet but not sure I want to as a bottle of that in a diffuser will last several months. But I have to say it is really cute and I may not have found the right combination of oil/water.

The mushroom design is adorable. I added calming essential oils to help create a restful environment in my bedroom. When I am in bed I can smell it occasionally, but it's not strong. It probably depends a lot on your choice of oils. I plan on buying others because I like the way they look and I enjoy the smell of certain essential oils. Very easy to use.

I bought this and used some Spruce scented oil I use with reed diffusers and it just doesn't give off any scent. I've had it set up for about 3 weeks and there is no scent at all. I know it's not the oil because I use it and it works fine on the reeds. It looks pretty though.
