Pricey.
Necessity Skincare Dual Strength Alpha Hydroxy is interesting. It can be used by people of all skin types (i.e., oily, dry, combination). While I am not sure my skin is any clearer, this cleanser definitely did not irritate my skin. I absolutely did not notice any redness or dryness. [Note: I usually use a light moisturizer following my skin cleansing regime). This gel is mild enough to use twice a day (i.e., morning and night). The scent is faint but pleasant. It’s floral scented which I attribute to the rosehip. It is a bluish/green tinted gel. Simply put warm water on your face and follow with the cleanser and rinse. The gel does not really lather much, but goes on evenly. It does leave your face feeling clean. And finally, this cleanser does seem to be a little pricey, especially if you compare it with other cleansers, that you can buy at your local drug store or discount store. Hopefully this 4oz/120ml pump bottle will last a while.

Necessity Face Wash
I thought when I ordered this I was getting a gel to put on my face and leave on for a period of time. I didn’t realize it was a rinse off face wash. The product description states that is does not contain glycolic acid but the bottle lists it as an ingredient. Confusing much?I did not feel it dispersed easily from the bottle but my skin did feel soft after use. Time will tell if it delivers any long term results.

Confusing statements..
From what I've read to start with, I thought this would be a good exfoliator for me (lol, kind of old!). When I got it and started reading it..says for oily or problematic skin...? Don't have that issue but am trying on just a couple areas of my face that are age "crackled"..We shall see because retinol should be generally safe to do a light exfoliation

Doesn’t seem to do much
This rinse off gel has a lot of good ingredients but even after using it for 3 weeks I didn’t notice a difference in my skin. I even tried leaving it on and still didn’t see a difference. Leaving it on didn’t irritate my skin or make it feel dry.

Prefer AHA In A Moisturizing Cream Base
This isn’t the first time I’ve used an alpha hydroxy product, but it is the first time I’ve tried one in gel form. After extended use, I don’t think this product is as effective as AHAs that are incorporated into moisturizing bases. Directions for this say to wet your face and massage some of the gel into skin—then rinse off. That leaves little time for AHA to actually absorb into skin and work. Also, my skin is dry to begin with—following this suggested regimen only made my face more dry, and I saw no noticeable end results. This gel form may work for some, but I have better luck using creamy AHA lotions that are better absorbed, and leave my face feeling more firm, even-toned and soft.

Dual Strength Alpha Hydroxy 10% Gel
I really haven’t figured out the purpose of this product. Is it a cleanser? You wet your face, work the blue gel in circular motions then rinse well. I don’t get a lather. The gel has a very subtle scent. It feels a little drying but I didn’t get any sort of adverse reaction. Three stars for “alright”. It might work for someone. I just didn’t see any results, one way or another.

Cleans well but only provides mild exfoliation at best
This thin, pale blue gel has an unpleasant sulfur scent in the bottle but a very faint floral smell during use. There is no hint of the fragrance of the citrus oils listed so they must be present in very minute quantities, if at all.The gel is stated to contain 10% alpha hydroxy acids in the form of glycolic acid, which is not a high concentration and when used as directed provides only a mild exfoliative effect, essentially no different than a thorough cleansing with a non-AHA wash, and simply leaves the skin clean. Leaving it on for a minute or two before rinsing might provide more exfoliation in theory but really just makes the skin feel dry and taut despite the glycerin and oils it contains. I would recommend this product for oily skin only. The plastic bottle holds just 4 fl. oz. or 120 ml but the pump cap dispenses tiny amounts and only a little is needed. It is still a poor value at the current price for what is essentially a low-lather face wash, even if it cleans well.Note: The current title on the Amazon product page states "Without Glycolic Acid" but it is included in the ingredient list on the bottle label, which is the same as in the current photos.

Uncertain as to whether the product cleans, but as a prep before a cleansing mask, it works well.
I'm uncertain as to whether this product is a cleanser or not, but we've used it as a facial preparation in the shower. Apply to the face as if it were soap - the product doesn't lather - and then rinse off. Followed with a cleansing mask, toner, serum, moisturizer, the product works very nicely as a prep. No one in the family responded with any irritation or redness, but we all noted that it has a tendency to make pores smaller and less obvious. The question remains as to whether this product can be used on its own -- does it actually clean the skin?
