I bought this in January 2021 and I can't say how many times I've found some useful item in it that I needed and it worked like a charm. The thread is sturdy and comes in really nice colors, the variety of needles, the scissors, the threader, the seam ripper, everything -- it has whatever you need to rescue clothing, buttons, embroidery, cross-stitch, (a thimble, even a tapestry needle to rescue crochet!) you name it. When I first got it I was like, ok whatever, it was an inexpensive kit that suited my need for whatever it was at the time (I can't recall). But I just can't get over how handy it is, and how many times I've reached for it and got exactly what I needed at the time. Over the past 30 years buying little sewing kits in times of need when I didn't have access to my other sewing or craft supplies, this is probably the most all-around useful kit I've found.

Okay, so let's be real. If you are looking for a professional seamstresses kit, you will likely be disappointed and you should probably spend a little extra. The thread spindles are so well packed, finding the end IS a challenge and the smaller needles will not cooperate with the threader... So why 5 stars? Simple. The price, the case, plenty of needles, threads; the scissors are good and sharp; the threader, although not the highest quality, does what it needs to in the needles it fits, which is most of them. This is value for money. Yes, I probably could have gotten a cheaper set from Walmart, with fewer needles, less thread, no case.... For my needs (sewing ends on bikini strings) this kit has more than I need, and having a case to keep everything together is a bonus. The thimble is a little small, but still does what I need it to. A spare tape measure (I already have 2) is a helpful backup if needed. If you are starting out in sewing (which I basically am, I'm usually wielding pliers and making chainmaille), this is a good beginners kit. So yes, for what you're getting, for what you're paying 5 stars is warranted.

The perfect travel size sewing kit. It comes with absolutely everything you need in case of an emergency or just to keep at home for small fixes. Quality and durability is great! It comes an a sleek pouch that holds everything in place.

I am in no way experienced with sewing but I bought this so I could sew patches onto my bag and for the most part it's good for the price. The thread is decent and can handle moderate force without breaking and is very soft to the touch. The needles are also decent and come in different sizes but too much force can bend them. The scissors however are very cheap and don't cut well so I don't use those. Overall it's a great starter kit or perfect to use for small projects but I'm not sure about the longevity for stuff like clothes

I grabbed this just to sew up holes in a couple pillow cases and blankets, and it comes with mostly any color you can need, every color has a decent amount of thread you will be able to repair multiple items with. The quality is just fine for the price that you pay. And it comes with everything you can need. Even some spare buttons, a seam ripper, safety pins and a pair of scissors as well. And a couple other things. This is a really good set to have handy in case you need a quick needle and thread repair kit other on the go or at home, because it zips up in a little travel bag, and everything stays put.

My son leaves this week for two years to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That’s two years away from home and wearing dress clothes (suits, white shirts, dress pants, etc.) every day. Tons of walking and outdoor time. This set is compact and very inclusive. The bright thread colors are less useful for his wardrobe, so we swapped some of the bright ones with more blacks, browns, navy, white, etc. Great basic kit for him to repair buttons or small tears/wear until he comes home. Compact and complete.

I haven't used it yet. I bought it to take on cruises for those little mishaps
