Did the trick. Nothing more, nothing less.

Needed to replace cord ties on rugged shoes that wore out from tying. These laces are easier and quicker to use and tough enough to last.

My son uses these on his daily Nikes and they are holding up really well. Two months into the school year and he's still wearing them!

This is really an unusual shoe tie method, but a good one. The laces are reflective. The color is a deep blue. The laces are thick and not easily snapped. It is a bit tricky to figure out how to clip on the top and bottom, but once you get the hang of it it's okay. I have small fingers and didn't have to fumble. My son had a bit more trouble because his fingers are larger, but he was still able to figure out how to work them. You have to snap the laces at the bottom of the shoe into the pieces of plastic that open and have teeth in them. Then you have to put the other ends (at the top of the shoe) in the pieces that have a spring in them. Push the button down so a hole big enough to feed the laces into them. Then, let go. The laces won't be dangling anymore and they won't come untied on you either. The only thing I don't like at all is that the pieces that go at the bottom of the laces will break apart eventually if you try to open and close them often. You shouldn't have to do that, however, because you tighten and loosen with the part at the top, the springy part.*I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion. This is a great idea for children who do not yet tie their shoes. These shoelaces were pretty simple to lace into a pair of my toddlers shoes and there is a clasp that closes them in place. I did find that these laces are just a little long for my toddler's shoes, but I will hold onto them to use when his foot grows a few sizes.
