Surprisingly great sound for the price!
I grabbed these Amazon Basics Stereo 2.0 Speakers for my PC setup, and honestly — I’m really happy with them! For such a budget-friendly pair of speakers, the sound quality is way better than I expected. They’re super easy to set up: just plug the USB into power and connect the 3.5 mm jack to your laptop or desktop. No drivers, no fuss. The audio is clear and balanced, with enough volume to fill my home office without distortion. The bass isn’t thunderous (it is a small 2.0 set), but for movies, podcasts, Zoom calls, and everyday music, they’re totally solid. They also look clean and simple on my desk — small footprint, no bulky cables everywhere. If you want basic desktop speakers that sound good and are easy to use, these are a great choice. Perfect for students, casual listeners, or anyone who wants better sound than built-ins without spending a lot. Definitely recommend!

Look good and sound good. Not super loud but fine if used with a laptop.
I'm not sure why I ordered wired speakers--I think I had some idea that the internet was needed for Bluetooth, but apparently I'm wrong about that! Anyway, these speakers plug into my laptop, one lead into the headphone jack and the other (which draws power) into a USB port, and they work fine. The speakers are fairly heavy and they look good. They're bigger than I expected. Each speaker is about the size of a standard coffee mug turned on its side. The cable that runs from laptop to speaker is about 3 or 4 feet long. The volume is not super loud. They are not loud enough to fill a room with sound (so they wouldn't be quite loud enough if I wanted to listen to music while walking around doing housework, for instance, I'll need to use headphones for that), but they are loud enough if you're sitting near your laptop. At maximum volume, they are a little less loud than the sound level we would have if watching TV, but that's not a problem because if I'm watching a movie on my laptop, I will be a lot closer to it than I would be to the TV. The volume is fine for watching a movie--I find I'm turning the volume up to around 80% to do that. I'm no audiophile, but the sound quality sounds pretty good to me. Given how inexpensive these were, they were a bargain.

Entirely average speakers
These are fine. That’s the whole review, but I’ll elaborate because apparently that’s required. Sound-wise, they’re not much better than decent laptop speakers or the speakers built into a Mac mini. Very average. They don’t get especially loud, there’s no real bass to speak of, and nothing about the audio is going to impress you. They work, they make noise, and that’s about it. Where these do shine is the physical side. They have a surprisingly nice, heavy weight to them, the build quality feels solid, and they look way more expensive than they actually are. Clean design, nice finish, and they don’t scream “cheap plastic desktop junk.” compatible with anything that has a 3.5mm jack, can power them from a USB hub separately as the USB has nothing to do with the audio input. USB-powered and 3.5mm input keeps things simple, volume knob works fine, no weird hiss or buzzing. Setup is plug-and-play, as expected. Bottom line: buy these if you want something that looks good on your desk and sounds… acceptable. Don’t buy them expecting a meaningful upgrade in audio quality. They’re competent, well-built desk ornaments that happen to play sound.

Small but Mighty
I am extremely impressed by these. I have been dealing with crappy computer speakers for over a year and typically just opt to go for my headset since it is nicer sounds quality. When I started playing co-op games in the same room, it became difficult because we wanted to communicate but it felt silly to use microphones and headsets next to each other. So, I bought two sets, one for me and one for them. We couldn't believe how great these were. Not only are they extremely affordable, they are also great quality. The sound at max volume is LOUD! They are heavy, sturdy, and durable. The sound sounds good, higher quality than I would expect from a speaker at this price. It was SO easy to plug in and immediately get sound. It is just USB and headphone jack. No issue with connectivity. You can control the sound via computer settings, or with the manual dial on the cord. Lastly, they glow blue so you can get some fun lighting but also it can tell you when they are on and working! Love these things.

Outstanding product. Needed sound and this got it for me.
Wow what a difference. Avast anti virus asked me via my computer to install some upgrades for my windows 7 computer even though microsoft stop supporting windows 7. But I went ahead and updated my windows 7 anyways and during the updates. It took away my sound from my small speakers on my laptop. I guess it messed with my audio updates not sure. Didn't have any way to listen to my youtube or anything with sound. These made a big difference and they were cheap too. Just plug the usb plug into your computer for power. Luckily I had an extra usb port that wasn't being used. And plug the jack they supply into your earphone port on your computer. Can't believe I have sound after 3 months of not having it. Amazing little speakers. Also use caution tearing into the box it comes in and the plastic wrapped all over it. Its tough to open the box and the plastic around it refuses to yield. Just be careful how you cut the plastic lose and the opening of the box. I always use my razor cutters but I would not do that again. Because a lot of this wiring and speakers are fragile.

Wonderful Little Speakers at a Great Price!
These are terrific and cute little speakers, and very easy to install! Don't expect Bose sound quality, but they work great for my purposes.

...awesome quality/sound, for something so small, and priced so...well, not 'low', but reasonable...
...awesome quality pair of speakers, which I appropriated for my aged laptop computer (...inner speaker, gone...goin' phono...). Easy to set up, and has an extraordinarily high quality sound, as well (...with the computer's inner speaker volume turned to '1/2', and the separate phono speakers also havened, the overall sound is still pretty loud, crisp, and sharp...whether it's my music, online movies, or my regularly subscribed podcasts...). If Amazon was willing to put their name directly on this product, that would have already a big 'yes' on this sell

OK...not friendly with DisplayLink
I have a MacBook that I that I use a DisplayLink docking station and software to connect it to two larger monitors. If you use DisplayLink you might know there are some corks to get them to work like Windows products will normally. I wanted some speakers to be able to listen to things better while the laptop was docked so I ordered these. Overall I like them, they are small enough to fit under the monitors and overall the sound is ok (didn't expect a lot for the price). The problem is that when I connected the USB for the power it put the docking station into a fit and took 20 minutes to get everything working again. Also found that the 3.5mm jack on the dock will not provide sound so have to run that plug to the computer which is away from the dock. There is enough cord to do it, but it means I can't leave it plugged into the dock all the time, I have to plug and unplug the 3.5mm as I remove the laptop. I mean it does work after getting DisplayLink figured out, but was a pain and not the best fit for this application. If you have the ability to a power plug, you might just be better to plug the USB into a electric brick to get the power and leave it out of your docking station
