Looks great if you take the time to install carefully
We live in a tri-level house with two sets of six wooden stairs. Between my two young boys slipping on the stairs in socks and our 11-year-old dog falling up and down the stairs due to poor eyesight, we needed something to prevent falls and slips. One roll of this product was enough for our 12 total stairs. First, I measured one stair and cut one piece to that length, and then I cut all the other lengths needed to the same size. I then rounded the corners of each piece. Next, I thoroughly cleaned every stair by first sweeping and then scrubbing them with water and gentle soap. One at a time, I took a length of the tape and peeled off the backing. I then held it taut with one hand at each end and laid it straight and gently down. I found the best way to apply pressure was to take the roller and, starting in the middle, roll in short, pressured lengths from the center to the outer rounded-edges. I also rolled it in thirds -- so from the center I rolled to the edge on the bottom third of the piece, then the middle third, and finally the top third. I found this to be the best way to ensure no trapped bubbles. As you can tell, it is barely noticeable on our stairs. And yet, it has made a vast improvement in safety for our children and pet who have not slipped once on the stairs since we installed this tape.

Prevents slip all summer so far!
Purchased to place over wood steps leading down back patio area. Wood needs replacing due to smoothness from years of use. Yet with no time to invest before older parents coming, I sanded down top area where wanting to apply, swept it out, and used cloth. I cut and placed at outer 1/3 edge, and has done its job very well so far this season!I can see some lack of adherence, but it has not given way to moving the strip, or lack of effectiveness at this point, 3 months into summer.LOTS of feet to use of product. Will soon be applying to concrete step and end of house sidewalk to public sidewalk. 2 family members have slipped and fallen right on there back/kidney back areas. A couple years to recover. :/ (one from rain, one in winter despite salting)Found this and will try now for rain weather. Unsure will do well for winter, as would anticipated filling in of grooves meant for traction. So, overall, holding to older wood for recover until can replace wood, and WILL apply again to new wood.

Life about 6 mo to 1 year for us (depending on location)
We had a tricky situation becuase we were using this on variated grouted tile in a bathroom (aka not a smooth surface and exposed to water occasionally). Each sticky piece lasted between 6 months and 1 year when installed properly. You really have to make sure that you push the edges down as much as possible, becuase it is water or dirt that gets underneath that causes it to peel up. In some cases if a corner peeled we just cut off that corner and it extended the life (rather than peeling off and having to reapply).I found another product that sticks longer but has more agressive texture. The texture in this product is not very raised, just rough, which is actually quite nice for my mom that shuffles her feet in socks. It does not "catch" on her socks, but it is texured enough that she does not slip (as she did on the tile beforehand). You should clean the surface thrououghly and let it dry completely before applying. Overall this is a better product than some I have bought, but now that I need to buy more, I am not sure if I will buy this product again or search for another. It is right in the middle of the line for me.

Quality Product
I purchased these because we have an older 1980's home with all real-wood floors. They're pretty slick, especially on the stairs. Our pets were having a hard time navigating the stairs. They definitely did their job, the pets are zooming around again, and I am more secure walking on the stairs now that the tape is there. It's also probably good we put them down for home insurance reasons, as well as the elderly in out home that visit. They're easy to install. I recommend not pulling the strips completely off the backing, but rather, slowly laying it off while you pull the backing. Be sure to use the roller. The product is visible before rolled and from side angles. It grips very well!

feel safer than before
I am pretty satisfied with the quality of the tape and it looks nice on the stairs. The hardest part for me is to apply tapes properly on the staircase. Fortunately, it is hardly noticed because it's nearly transparent. It is easy to remove the tape from the hardwood staircase to realign and reapply without damaging the wood and the tape still sticks very well. (Notice: Clean the staircase before apply the tape). Overall, its a very good product and the seller really followed up and make sure you are satisfied with it.

Great
Works as described. Hardly visible on wooden stairs. Easy to cut to size and apply.
