AKASO Gloves: High quality heated gloves at a reasonable price
Over the winter I have purchased and tried multiple brands of heated gloves to find the gloves that are not only the best value but perform the best. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of material in the AKASO gloves and the synthetic leather really adds a quality aesthetic look to the gloves. The batteries are also among the highest you can currently by at 3200 mAh and you can also buy extra batteries here on amazon for 29.99, but they frequently go on sale for 22.99 or less. These gloves also come with a AC outlet charger which is a huge plus and charges the batteries in about 4-6 hours. The touchscreen on thumb and index finger does actually work on both fingers.I live in Idaho so I tested these gloves in snowy conditions with temperatures ranging from 8 degrees to 30 degrees. The gloves also heat not just the back of your hand, but all the way to the fingers. Even without the electric heating, the 3M thinsulate material keeps your hands really warm making these gloves you can wear even when the batteries run out. In testing, you really do get 2.5 hours on the highest settings, around 4 with the medium setting and a little over 6 on the lowest setting. They also do warm up quickly (less than two minutes), but with any heated gloves I recommend warming them up prior to putting them on and going outside. If there is one criticism on the heating, there is a big jump in the quality of warmth from the lowest to the medium setting, so if you purchase the gloves most likely you will be using the highest or medium setting. They are water resistant, not waterproof. I did also test using them while riding my bike and they did fine in the cold, but if you are riding a motorcycle over long distances, you likely want to get heavier duty electric gloves for the best results. My only criticism is that I typically wear large gloves, but these ran big, so I had to actually buy the medium gloves. So make sure you check the sizing chart to make sure you are buying the size you need.

Great gloves but sizing needs some work
I have been looking for a pair of heated gloves to deal with the extreme cold on the mountain at times and I gave these heated gloves a shot. At first glance the gloves came in a nice box presentation and I appreciated that. I will summarize the pros and cons below of the gloves.Pros- Gloves do keep your hands warm with the 3 different temperature levels.- touchscreen compatible thumb/index finger tips- Hands feel comfortable inside the glove.- Battery level for keeping hands warm are about what was stated with about 6 hours use.Cons- Sizing is a bit weird. It says it is unisex but I think even the small size is too big for a normal woman. I am a man and I ordered the Medium size glove since that is my normal glove size and I think it is a bit too big for me and may have to reorder the Small size gloves and see if they will fit better.- Individual finger lengths need to be readjusted to be more accurate. Currently the index, middle and ring fingers have the exact same length which is not realistic. The middle finger length is the only finger that is accurate but the rest Index, Ring, Pinky and Thumb fingers are too long by at least 1-2 cm and need to be shorter. Normally in terms of finger length, the length of the fingers should be in this order from longest to shortest Middle > Index > Ring> Pinky > Thumb. The Thumb should have that shortest finger length.- Need to add long straps on the sides of the gloves so that you can hang the gloves on your wrists temporarily. Most other major brands for snow gloves have long straps on the sides of the gloves so that you don't accidentally drop them on a ski lift.

First pair DOA, second pair good.
The media could not be loaded. EDIT:The seller independently contacted me and asked if I would like to try out another pair on them. I obliged and so now that I have another pair in, that work this time, I'll update the review. Particularly interesting because I now have another pair from a competitor which are similar but a little more expensive than this pair.\So in general the gloves work pretty well. The construction is somewhere in the middle, not cheap and not the highest quality out there. They do appear to have real Thinsulate material and in general are comparable in quality to a "standard" $20-30 NON-heated glove. I suspect they will last a few seasons with moderate abuse. The top is a tough fabric material, and the bottom is all rubberized (which I appreciate). The heating feature in general works pretty well, and to be perfectly honest it appears to be a very similar electronics system between all these gloves. You press and hold to turn on, and there are 3 heating levels indicated by the color of the button. It should go without saying that the higher the temperature the lower the battery life and vise-versa. On the topic of battery life these gloves actually have some of the highest capacity batteries amongst the heated gloves I have tried/researched, and they do so without the battery getting in the way! The battery is placed on the top and behind the wrist which IMO is best place for it (my other gloves have it below and behind the wrist which is noticeably worse, even with a smaller battery).Basically they seem to work pretty well. The heat is on the top of the hand and goes on to the top of the fingers as well, and seems to reach all the way to the ends. All of my fingers stayed warm at almost any temperature I have subjected them to including a recent dog walk at 0*F (-17*C). HOWEVER, a flaw that both this glove and my other glove has is that the thumb doesn't have enough heating in it and gets colder than the rest, at 0*F the gloves were usable and my hands never got too cold, but I think eventually my thumb would have gotten pretty cold after an hour or two.Charging is pretty simple, but you do need to pull the batteries out of the glove to charge (which again is common among all these amazon heated gloves). So in summary, with a working pair they are a pretty good value, but are not perfect, with the following Pros/Cons.Pro:- Overall value. They are where $30 cheaper than my other pair and are generally about as good with maybe a slight decrease in overall fabric quality.- Genuine 3M Thinsulate material does a good job of heat retention even without the heating function active.- The 3 mode heating system works well and the gloves keep my hands warm down to about 5*F (-15*C).- Heating goes on the top of the hands and all fingers.- They have some of the largest capacity batteries I have seen for heated gloves, which should translate to longer runtimes.- The battery placement is very good and rarely gets in the way- The overall ergonomics are good, and I am able to do all the same things I would with (thicker) non-heated gloves.- Customer service was very good. They contacted me actually without me going out of my way to get a hold of them, and I appreciate that.Cons:- Quality control is questionable. First pair I got were DOA, second pair were good.- The heating function doesn't work as well on the thumb as the other fingers limiting the usefulness of the gloves to the single digits. Below that they are usable for say a small periods of time (especially if you heat them up before you go out).ORIGINAL REVIEW:Took the gloves out of the box and immediately charged the batteries. Once full I tried them out.One glove works correctly, the other glove is DOA. Sometimes I can get it to flicker or turn on for a few seconds until I move it and it shuts off. Swap the batteries and you get the same behavior. I.E. Both batteries are good, one glove is fully functional, and the other one is bad, and that is straight out of the box.Look elsewhere. Now I'll have to deal with the returns and reordering of something different that hopefully works :(
