I received this earlier today; it was packed extremely well and arrived in good shape. The first thing I noticed was how heavy it was. It is listed at 32 pounds and feels every bit that heavy. The cabinet appeared to be well finished and solidly constructed.I have been using an old AR 10' ported sub I purchased with my first big screen TV in 1993 and it seemed to me that the volume was just not as good as it was in times past. It worked, but I had to turned the volume on the speaker and subwoofer setting on my home theatre receiver way up to get some decent bass and the bass was sort of boomy or inaccurate sounding.I set the Pinnacle up in about five minutes and set it up using a Dayton wireless transmitter/receiver and the sound was a tremendous improvement. I had to turn down my sub volume control on my receiver and the sub volume only had to be turned up about one third of the setting to give thunderous a very clean and accurate sounding bass. The dual speaker acoustic suspension design and the high power amplifier give this unit a very accurate, tight sounding bass. I am using it with a Mirage passive sound bar, some rear BIC DV62si surrounds and a Yamaha 500watt home theatre receiver. The large, accurate sound belies the size and cost of the setup. The whole setup is so diminutive that it takes little space in my family room and is most unobtrusive..The thing is so small, I intend to place it under a living room chair that is sitting over an AC plug. It will be totally unobtrusive. Perhaps for action movies a larger, "booming sub" might be better, but for accurate, clear basis in serious music, this "Baby" can't be beat.Unless the thing blows out, I would have to rate the speaker as an incredible bargain. Even at the original price it would be worth the money, but at the current price it is a steal.

Instructions were not clear. AAA batteries were not included and when I finally figured out the connections, it sounded like there was no speakers. The sound sounded so low that I had to put my ears on the the speakers. Nope, had to get my money back.

What can I say for its size the Baby boomer is the little sub that can!I'm in a 600 sqft room and I bought two, because I couldn't believe one would be enough. I'm using them in a nearfield configuration with Def Tech Inclines... Oh' Yeah!So far I have only one hooked up, I'm almost afraid what two would do.I can't wait to find out.You should buy one or two if you get the chance, I'm glad I got them for 250 ea.Update to Pinnacle baby boomers 5-31-2014They both hum... That takes some wind from my sails.I can't hear the hum over the music, but when it's quiet I can hear them.Woot has been awesome, Pinnacle has been quick to respond as well.I'm not sure I will keep these speakers though, the hum is becoming annoying.

sound quality isn't as good as I expected it to be based upon the positive reviews. There is zero bass.

Im surprised...this sub is great. Loaded on a corner...my system (tube integrated with Dynaudio 52se) sounds full with these...at this price..im not complaining. Highly recommended.

Nicely suited for my apartment. Blends well with my Klipsch speakers. Liked them enough I bought a second Boomer for the back of the room.

Good soundbar with reasonable sound for the cost. Don't expect sound like you'd get from a Bose or Sonos soundbar (you'd be paying 10x for the privilege) and you'll be surprised...
