My mattress is already covered by a mattress encasement. should i spray it on the encasement or should i take the mattress out and then spray on it?

As long as there are no holes in the encasement, keep it closed for 16 months and starve them to death. If you're feeling adventurous you could throw a nuvan test strip into it and re-zip, but it affects humans as well. You're not supposed to be anywhere near one of those things, but it does have a reversible action and you could remove it if you start feeling sick.This stuff is for use where they are hiding and living - cracks, seam between carpet and wall, inside joints of bed posts, insides of curtain rods, etc. Don't use it on electronics either. What makes the can leak instead of spraying..

Good spray when it sprays. Shake the can before using. It helped a little but didnt buy this again due to the leaking of the product.
