I switched from another brand and tried this particular unit for CarPlay. One it had a smaller footprint, two it works seamlessly and much faster. The biggest feature I liked is that my wife and I drive the same car and by pushing one button on the unit itself it seamlessly switches to the others cell phone for CarPlay

It works great, connects fast and is very easy to setup. Very small size to keep it out of the way. I Highly recommend this product.

This is yet another example of cheap garbage. Did not work out of the box with either my Iphone or my Google Pixel 9 running the Android OS. Took the time to update the firmware on it, and it still sits on the Bluetooth joining screen for as long as 20 minutes. Looked online and couldn't find this specific device on the Ottocast website, nor could I find a single setup video for it anywhere. This is absolute junk, don't waste your money.

My 2024 Mazda CX5 has android auto and apple carplay but only over USB. Setup was mostly easy but you could tell there was some jankiness with the android connection and wifi stuff. Not really ottocast's fault.Wireless works well and turns on and connects really quick. Maps and other apps are smooth and responsive.About 1 in 5 times the music has this weird skipping thing ever several seconds. It usually goes away during the next startup. No idea why that happens.The only "bad" thing is that the unit's wifi stays on after the car is off ....probably for a certain amount of time depending on the car model. For the Mazda it's about 5 to 10 minutes so when you leave the car but stay in range, it can really delay your phone connecting to your home wifi which is annoying. It's also annoying when someone else is driving the car and you're staying at home. Your phone will try to connect to the car and drop your home wifi. The WiFi on the unit is a bit too strong

Awesome. Hated to have to plug i. My phone each time I was in the car and hated the cords, this works exceptionally well on a 2024 4Runner that had wired only CarPlay. Response times when you are navigating CarPlay on the head unit don’t feel any different from wired.I only use this for one phone and it pairs every time without me having to do anything. Tried this in my wife’s 2018 Honda CRV (came w wired only CarPlay) and it works equally well. Buying a 2nd unit for her.Just pair it to your phone and your done…5 second setup!

Works as intended, if you have connectivity issues after a while or trouble shooting make sure you restart your phone. I was ready to pull my hair out and turned out my iPhones update had messed something up. I’m too young to be that dumb, but hopefully that helps you! Sometimes audio get delayed or skips, if you just re-pair it fixes any issues. There is about a 3 second delay on audio from phone.

Wow!!! I am impressed, and very few products today impress me. I plugged the device into my car’s USB port, it immediately entered pairing mode, and my phone recognized it immediately. Now, my phone connects and CarPlay opens without me having to do anything. Since I have terminated my satellite radio subscription, this makes it so much easier to play music from my phone.
