Are these completely wireless?

No each speaker had its own wire to plug in the back of the sub woofer.

The static is horrible thru these, anyone have any luck fixing this? I have tried turning the speakers down and the source up and vica versa, no dice.

If you have a loud (high dB) router, or you have an old AC unit near by, such as an AC unit inside an apartment, or loose wires in a near by outlet, it can pick up static or a clicking / popping sound at around 120htz impedance. Try to shield speakers from any sort of EM radiation and you shouldn't get any unwanted noise. This goes for pretty much any cheap 5.1 system.

i have static coming out of one of the front speakers, any idea how to fix this?

Check all your connections and make sure they're good and everything is clean. Also make sure to put the system on a decent search protector. You can get static from a poorly grounded outlet or the like.

I have this hooked up to my tv via output > r/w onto the back of the subwoofer. all 5 speakers are working but the subwoofer won't work? help!

The speakers run through the subwoofer, so if the speakers are working then the subwoofer has to be working. Take the remote and make sure the volume on the subwoofer is turned up. You can adjust the volume of all speakers through the remote. If this doesn't work then I don't know.
