Designed for administering tabs or pills to pets, these Pet Pillers feature a soft rubber tip which is secured better to the plastic shaft and is more uniform to hold tabs better. They are gentle to the pet's mouth, easy to clean, and will work on even smaller pets.

Indestructible, reliable, works for a wide variety of pills and animals
We use these at my veterinary hospital and they show very little signs of wear even after being used and washed hundreds of times in a pretty rough environment. At home, one would probably last forever.I appreciate the simple design. Some other pillers have rings for your fingers (like a dental syringe), but those are extraneous and only get in the way.

looks like my original but doesn't work the same or as well.
It's a simple design - two pieces of plastic: a pen sized plastic tube with a slotted soft rubber/plastic tip and a slightly longer plastic insert piece/plunger. The plunger piece is inserted up to a "stop". When the plunger is fully depressed, the pill in the soft tip is "popped" out the end and down the back of the pet's throat. These two new ones have no "popping" effect and often the pill jams down the side of the plunger and within the outer tube. There's either a problem with the material or the sizing/dimensions of the plunger and tube. Useless..

Actually awful
Quick takeaway: I can't imagine a situation where this would actually work.My cat takes half of a tiny pill on a regular basis. I bought this to replace a piller that I had purchased from our old vet's office, before we moved. That piller was never perfect, but I could usually get it to work by wrapping the pill half in a piece of pill pocket and stuffing it into the opening (which was too big to hold the pill half alone). Eventually it wore out, though.Looking for a new piller, I thought this one might actually be better than our old one because of the small opening. Finally, I thought, I can just put the pill half in without adding anything. Well, when I opened the package, I immediately had concerns. The plunger had sticky yellowish goo on it (probably from the manufacturing process), and the rubbery tip had excess material hanging off it. Nevertheless, I washed the whole thing and gave it a try.As of this writing, this product has worked on 0/4 attempts. The tiny pill half barely fits in the opening, and the plunger sticks so much when I try to give the pill that it makes a loud POP when I finally push it through. Even worse, though, is that the pill doesn't "shoot" out. It just sort of sticks to the rubbery tip and slowly falls off. I tried it once with the pill pocket trick, but then it was even worse. This product is awful. I don't know how it would work for anyone.

Easy to give pills to pets
I had to replace my old one because we had it for over twenty years. This one seems exactly the same and works easily. I have to give one of my cats two pills a day. This is not an enjoyable thing to do -- if you have ever had to pill a tiny house lion, you understand my problem. This makes it quick and easy so we don't lose an arm in the process.
