So we moved into a rental while we build our new home - and one bedroom absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke (I was a smoker for years until 2020… smoked indoors until my oldest was born in 2006… I was an expert at covering cigarette odor).And with that said - this smell was BAD! It smelled like a wet ash tray in one room in a house that was otherwise immaculate. Neighbors shared that the previous owner was a heavy smoker, and only smoked in that room to preserve the smell and cleanliness of the house. I tell you all of that, to tell you this - I wish I had started with this machine right off the bat! The weekend we moved in, it rained (which moisture makes smoky smell and other odors much worse). We washed the walls, scrubbed the floors, sprayed Odoban all over the walls and ceiling. No luck. Bought an air purifier with excellent reviews. No luck. Bought Odoban gel crystals. Nada. Put baking soda and vinegar bowls all over the room and ventilated. Nothing. We ended up with a wet cigarette smell with some overwhelming masking fragrances.In desperation, I bought this as an absolute last resort (I was nervous about the chemically smell and it not working at all after already spending $200 on other remedies). I had already emailed the property management company telling them I was going to need them to Kilz and paint to remediate the cigarette odor in that room.Today - we ran this machine for 2 hours, let it sit for an hour - and then opened windows and ventilated for another two hours with fans and opening windows. And IT FREAKING WORKED. Absolutely zerooooo cigarette smell. It smells clean… not strong, but almost like a a sun-dried laundry with a hint of hospital disinfectant smell (in full transparency - but it smells so clean!).I was so very skeptical. I don’t trust Amazon reviews because so many people get affiliate kick backs, but this product is 15/10. Absolutely worked and worth every penny. Just wish I had bought it before all the spray chemicals and crap! 😅

My daughter does professional cleaning for a living, so when I asked her what I could do to get rid of smoke odor in the house she highly recommended an Ozone Generator. After searching on Amazon I found this to be one of the highest rated and least expensive.My house is too large for this to effectively work in one treatment, so I put it into the individual rooms one by one and sealed them off (making sure there weren't any pets or plants in the room). Even though I had the rooms sealed off, I left the house for a couple of hours. Upon returning I could immediately detect the odor from the Ozone Generator. This wasn't a bad thing, it was good. It meant that it was really working its way into even the smallest of areas and saturating into the carpet, bedding, etc.Let's be clear here, the odor caused by the ozone is very strong, it's kin to a strong chlorine bleach smell and even after airing out the room for a few hours, it still hung around for a day or a little more, but once that odor disappeared it left behind a super fresh, clean smell with absolutely no hint of cigarettes, mold, mildew or any other offensive odors.If the odor you are trying to get rid of is REALLY strong, it may creep back up after a week or so. If this happens, simply retreat the area. But remember, you need to try and eliminate the source of the smell first by cleaning the room thoroughly (and stop smoking in the room). I had to treat the main room that we smoked in twice in order to get rid of the smell permanently.Ozone generators apply an electrical charge to the air that passes through it. This splits apart some normal oxygen atoms into unstable single atoms, which bond with other oxygen molecules to form ozone. NEVER enter a room that is actively being treated, wait for a couple of hours before entering, this will give the oxygen time to recover and become breathable again. ALWAYS open all windows or other forms of ventilation after treatment. I would personally suggest that you not even use the room for at least 12 hours after treatment.Be patient after treating, you may think you made matters worse at first, but as soon as the ozone odor dissipates, you'll be left with a nice neutral smell (remember this can take 24 to 48 hours AFTER treatment).Ozone generators should always be treated with respect. ALWAYS follow the directions provided with the unit!

This is a great little ozone generator for the money! The unit is very easy to operate. Set it and forget it. We have a building that we gather with friends on the weekends, and after cooking and eating in there, and after everyone leaves, I just set the timer for 2 hours and come back the nest day. It smells like a new hotel room!.. no odors at all! I even had someone smoke in the building to test out how it would eliminate odors. Next day after using the ozone machine, it was undetectable. Great company, great customer service, and fast shipping! I waited a while to see how the lifespan of the unit would hold up and it has proven that it has the power to do the job in a 1600 sq ft building. It's super light weight and portable. So if you need to clean odors in a car or something, it's easy. Highly recommend!
