Much better power head than the original and a super strong edger tool to boot!
Definitely worth upgrading to this stronger power head, and the edger is a bonus. First test for the edger was actually to help start the dig for trenching in an antenna cable, and WOW was that a time-saver! Another great Ego tool for my collection.

Extremely well Built.
This is a Very Good Item, Well Built and not very heavy by itself, However, Once you add a Larger Battery and use it for a while it can feel heavy, But it is a Great Electric Unit, I would suggest adding a EGO Shoulder Belt to relieve the weight for extended periods of use.

Carbon fiber Extender works also with the HTA2020 Hedge trimmer attachment .
the EP7501, although nowhere to be found on AMAZON or at the EGO website, is fully compatible with the HTA2020 hedge trimmer attachment and thus provides a really long hedge trimmer. I was hoping and my hopes came true that this compatibility would allow me to trim an overhead Kiwi vine without having to be up on a ladder or precariously leaning over the edge on my roof to trim this vine with ordinary hedge trimmers and a one vine at a time pole saw! BTW - the HTA2020 Hedge Trimmer works great - excellently engineered in all details !

Expensive but worth it.
If you want to go electric this is a good way to go. It's very heavy and if you're a slight person you may find this uncomfortable. It came with a strap which surprised me and am grateful for.Two things: it's very expensive but it is solid and all functions are first class. There are other similar trimmers but research always led me back to Ego. This particular combo never goes on sale. I watched and waited a year. Finally decided to go for it.Also...the 5.0ah battery only lasts approx 30 minutes. If you have a smaller area to edge/trim, that's fine. I have a large yard and walkway. It needs alot of attention. If you have an hour or more work to do you must have a back up battery if not 3. I recommend getting at least a 9.0ah battery. The charger is excellent and usually recharges in about 30 minutes, so using two batts in tandem works.Lastly it has a great warranty so register it and save your documentation. I dont have confidence in technology but with a solid warranty with a solid company I feel more comfortable with an extreme purchase. So if you have some extra cash and you want to enter the electric field I'm willing to recommend this combo. You can expect a quality experience.

Versatile with good build quality
So far I've only used this with the pole saw (both with and without 2 carbon fiber extension attachments) and the weed trimmer but I plan to purchase more attachments over time. Plenty of power and very sturdy. Not surprising given my similar experiences with other EGO products like my mower, single stage snowblower, and chainsaw.

Brushcutting Beast
I don't normally write reviews, but I am so happy with this machine, that I came in for a rest and thought I would share my thoughts. Six weeks ago, I broke my arm trying to clear brush around a 300 ft long berm of trees on my place. During convalescence, I tried to hire it done, and was either turned down due to the difficulty of the work, or quoted "a couple thousand". So while I healed up, I bought the EGO BCA1220 brushcutter attachment and the PH1420 power head. The orthopedic surgeon cleared me to work this week, so I gave my new toy a whirl. In about 4 hours of work over the weekend, I was able to completely clear the berm of chest high, heavy-stalk weeds. This thing sliced through them like butter. I cycled between 2, 5 AH batteries, and was happy for the rest, as the machine had more energy that the operator. It is more like a lawnmower blade than a string trimmer, so not something to use around delicate plantings, or children. But man-o-man, this thing works like a champ. Highly recommend the attachment, as well as the powerhead.

Good addition to going electric.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Got this on sale to add to my inventory along with my eGo blower. I was very surprised at how powerful the motor is. It’s very easy to change out the material for the weed trimmer and easy to clean. Also tried my snow shovel attachment and it had power to push so easily.

Expandable, reliable, and so much fun, like me!
Got sucked down this rabbit hole. Ego power tools are the best. I bought this to complement my weed wicker, but also wanted the multi-tool. I will own all of the accessories…he said in a voice only his inner monologue could hear. He carefully looked at his wife to ensure she wasn’t listening. Safe! She cuts like a dream, not light, but not too heavy to control while you tame your yard. I’m talking about the edger, not the wife now. Reasonably priced for a tool you will use and have for years. Totally expandable. Can’t wait to add the snow blower. Arkansas winters can be brutal, unless you wait a day, then it’s all gone. Highly recommend.
