Can the L shaped table top be flipped to the other side?

I dont think so. You want the extension to the left? The board(s) that make up the desktop have pre-drilled holes for attaching it to the frame. I think to get a left hand desk, you need to flip the board upside down, exposing the pre-drilled holes. So no...I dont think its suitable.
