Because we do not use glycerin or artificial preservatives in this product, we have chosen to use evaporated cane syrup in small quantities both to help keep our treats soft and pliable and for its use as a natural preservative. Our Chicken Nuggets are 95% high quality human grade meat, with all other ingredients making up the remaining 5%. I hope this helps!
