Does this have a free view or free Sat receiver?

Freeview only in the UK. Whether it would handle the Eire system pass. It says not for sale outside of the UK. The German version may be different. Either way country specific EPGs come into it. In short UHF tuner for Freeview built in. You can connect your own Freesat box to it. Also remember last input on HDMI can be set so it always pops onto the HDMI port you were last on. That's a setting. That works. That's a Fire TV thing.

Freeview in the UK. Picture of the back. I don't have a Freeview aeriel myself so use it with a Freesat box plugged in via HDMI 4 which also feeds a surround sound processor. People doing reviews on here have got Freeview who have uhf aeriels. Basically its a UK special of the model range.

Can you put your own apps on

Yes you can. Ýou can sideload the same as the Firestick or Cube or you can use the Amazon app. Send Files to TV in the Amazon store is a useful first app to get stuff across if you are side loading. Followed by a file managers etc to give you FTP if you do it that way. Cloud can be used once you got a decent file manager on it. You can supplement storage with 128gb reliable USB. Sandsk is a good make for that. It follows along people's notes on adding extras storage. Apps subsequently installed can be moved backward and forwards between internal memory and the USB. Saying this I wouldnt go mad since apps that misbehave could freeze the TV etc. Had to boot a few times when the HDMI4 A/V port got confused in the TV. No sound out on that port.
