Got stuck
This mold worked well the first couple of times. with subsequent use and more wood swelling from the wetness, the top and bottom became more swollen than the sides, pinching the cloth between making the tofu difficult to get out. The last time this happened so badly I had to pick the tofu out from the bottom in chunks. That's when I ordered the plastic one (which can't swell in water) and tossed this one in the trash.

Tofu mold
It is a good mold, but smaller than we expected, that is, not a large press. So, we will use it as a model for making a larger one.

Exactly what I needed
I've been experimenting with making my own tofu for some weeks, and I was finding it difficult to turn out a well-shaped block of even thickness. I spend a lot of time trying to improvise molds and presses. This did the trick for both shaping and pressing the tofu. Just the thing!

Save your money
Looks good out of the box, but is garbage to use. Splits and warps upon 1st use. 2nd attempt aborted and just hung tofu to drain/dry in cheese cloth.

Worthless junk-it falls apart!
Poor design of small dowels holding the sides together makes this fall apart quickly when it gets wet and you apply pressure to press your tofu. The company sent me a new one for free but that fell apart right away as well. I now have a stainless steel one from Japan that is great but I can not find it available online anymore. I have seen wooden ones from Japan that have dove tailed joints that I would guess would hold up well. This is worthless and a total waste of money. I also have the Handy Pantry plastic tofu mold and it works fine but the sides are slightly beveled and it leaves a round mark on the tofu, I like the clean look of the finished product better with my stainless press.
