Does this mat have a strong odor?

I didn’t notice a strong odor, it’s outside my front door. I really like it.

How heavy is this mat? We live in a windy area so I'm wondering how easily wind could move it?

I would call it medium wt. Mine sits at the front door of my office. It seems to stay put. I've had heavier ones, but it's not super light at all. I think it will work for you. If it was up on a dec there would be a better chance that wind could move it around. dp

Could this used as a office chair mat on hardwood floors?

You could use it for this purpose, but I would not recommend it for two reasons. 1) The chair won’t slide smoothly. The grooves in the mat make it ideal for capturing dirt but create a surface that is not smooth. 2) It may be too small. I have the 24” x 36” size but my chair would just fit on the 24” width, and it would not slide back on the mat quite as far as I would want to get out of the chair comfortably. Most mats for this purpose are closer to 35” x 48.” It’s a great mat that I use in my laundry room so dirt doesn’t track in, but you may want to consider another option for use under an office chair.

Is it durable? Does it withstand snow and rain when outdoors?

It’s durable. Unless you have a Cat. They withstand water just fine. I imagine snow would not be a Problem. They are attractive and durable. I have 2 and swap them out after a storm so the mat is dry but they get wet no problem. Hang to dry and it’s fairly quick.
