Bell Draft Adult Bike Helmet

I've owned Bell helmets for many years. Then they switched to "one size fits all", and I hate them now. Hey Bell, just call it "one size fits many, but nowhere near all". I plan to take pics, it'll be embarrassing, for Bell. I bought the Bell Draft and Bell Adrenaline, both are jokes when it comes to fitting large heads. UPDATE: Yes, I have a big head, it measures 23 5/8 (60 cm) Bell's website says the Draft "Universal Adult" fits 54-61 cm or 21.2-24 in, which is an obvious lie. See the pics I've added, their sizing is a joke! I've worn Bell helmets for many years, they used to offer Small/Medium and a Large version. Now they say Universal Adult. Hahahaa, not! I also bought the Bell Adrenaline (pics here show only the Draft model), and it is the same joke. Bell, your sizing is a rancid insult.

got it for husband, he does not tolerate heat well, but likes to ride bike so I got him this one because it was one of the top rated ones in a consumer magazine, also reasonable cost. His only objection to it was that there was no visor available for this model (who knew? not me) I didn't realize this, but suggested that he try one of his hats with a visor and he said it worked fine, but because it covered the vents he bought just a visor with an expandable band and he's happy as a clam.

Fits better than other helmets in the price range. It has good ventilation, and is fairly light. You can pay 5 times as much for a helmet that is lighter, but if a quarter pound of weight is that important to your riding, then you need to get in better shape. I ride a lot, and crash occasionally. When you go through 2 or 3 helmets a year, it is important to get something safe that won't break the budget.

I chose this helmet as it received very good reviews on Consumer Reports but it is very uncomfortable to wear. Not only is the shell small front-to-back, the design uses small plastic tabs to hold the thin foam cushioning in place at the front. Most helmets use velcro strips under the foam to hold the cushioning. The two tabs dig into your forehead making it very uncomfortable.

I suppose the only true way to review a bike helmet is to describe how it performed in a crash, but I hope that never happens.This Bell Draft helmet, which is recommended by Consumer Reports, has adjustments to assure a good fit, and it provides good ventilation. It comes in lots of colors and looks nice.Consumer Reports says: "Very good in overall performance. Provides Excellent impact resistance."

The Bell Draft helmet is very highly rated by a well-respected consumer testing company and magazine. It's also a very good value compared to what you might pay for other highly-rated bicycle helmets. However, the "universal fit" design does not fit me and may not fit you. It's too small for larger heads. I expect that this will be a very good helmet for many people but not me. If you have a larger than average head and choose to buy this helmet, be sure you are able to return it in the event that it does not fit you.

This helmet arrived in a timely fashion packed well. Some reviewers considered the model to run small however taking a chance I was pleasantly surprised the fit was very good allowing the tensioner to have full range of adjustment for comfort. I have average height and build head circumference of 23”. I would do business with this seller again.

These helmets are expired. Great quality but made in 2015 and 2016. Model indicated 2019 model so I expected they were still within manufacturers' recommendation of 3-5 years due to natural degradation of resins. Received old but new helmets.
