Great cable, useful for updating firmware in addition to data logging
works great, only thing though is that you need FlukeView Forms to use it or you can spend some time and get LabView or MATLAB to record your data. If you're savvy enough to get a VI in LabView or get MATLAB to do the data logging for you, chances are it's probably a better use of your time to just buy FlukeView Forms unless you're a broke student in which case - it is possible. If you've a Fluke 289, you'll want the cable to update the firmware to resolve the issue with light getting into the top where the IR port is and screwing up your readings.

It works ...
I purchased this to upgrade the firmware in my Fluke 289 and I also because I'm thinking about getting the forms software sometime down the road. It worked flawlessly when I updated the firmware; the connections were solid. It's a very sturdy cable and I have no worries about it getting damaged.

Its a good cable to link your meter but seems a bit overdone, wireless would be better and the cost of the cable is high with such a limited function.

It has Fluke's approval to put their name on it
It simply works, as you would expect. It cost too much, as does the software, thanks for that Fluke. But when ya need it, well ya just need it and it works perfectly.

Beware: Useless without software
By itself, this cable allows you to do nothing but update the firmware on your meter. You also need to buy the more-expensive software to get the data off the meter.I have no idea if it works, because it's useless. For this reason, I give it one-star. I hope perspective buyers see this, are warned, and buy the correct produce.Fluke, please allow your users to get the datalogging data off their meters without using expensive, not-useful software. Keep selling it for those who want it, but all I want is .csv or something like that, and I can't get it.

The hardware is excellent, it just snaps on the meter
The hardware is excellent, it just snaps on the meter. However the protocol is poorly documented, limiting its real value. Fluke should provide better documentation of the protocol for the premium price they get for their meters. If the need is for more than the provided software can do, consider something other than Fluke.
