Big enough for family of 5 - super purchase
We bought a rigid sided hot tub as a family Christmas present this year.Easy delivery and set up - and we've enjoyed a number of dips already. We are a family of 5 (teenage upwards) - and thought that the size guide of 4-6 was likely going to be a bit optimistic - however, the 5 of us fit in absolutely fine. It is also deep enough to feel really submerged and stay toasty on a cold evening.Great purchase - would recommend Wave to others.

Expensive mistake
Upgraded from a Wave inflatable spa to this rigid foam one. Only used for one year and the inner liner has bubbled up, initially advised that nothing could be done but contact with Wave customer services has provided a solution Good to have a company with a human touch.

Not manufactured to last.. beware
Purchased direct from Wave Spa… not via Amazon.Super impressed to begin with, bought to replace a Monaco lazy spa, which I’d had for 7 years with no issues….Delivered end of July / beginning of August 2021.. used for August, September 2021 and May 2022The liner that holds the round insulation in, has started to fray and come away….Got in touch with customer services who suggested I buy a new one at a £120, after another few emails they kindly pointed out that it’s ok, they can see from the picture it “still works”Which is correct but isn’t the point… not built to last…. 3/4 months use at most, cleaned and stored away for winter…Would not recommend…

A step up from an inflatable tub
Had this tub for two years now, built and permanently stored in garden even when empty and not in use.I found the tub not too difficult to put together. I put a base down of foam squares, then have a cut to size kingspan layer and the tub on top, the kingspan layer allowed me to cut a slit so the drain pipe sits down a bit. I also wrapped the foam segments in aluminium insulation foil for extra insulation and put a double layer of this underneath the inner liner. The inflatable lid gets grubby and mouldy easily and also lets water get into it, probably through the air valve.....but without it the basic cover sags in and collects water....Wave don't have a good solution for this.Canadian Spa make one called the Swift which is actually identical to the Osaka and they do make a hard foam folding lid which fits the Osaka perfectly, even has the clips in the exact same places. But this lid costs ÂŁ230-ÂŁ300.....I got one second hand for ÂŁ45.....but you have to be lucky to find one. I only got this recently, for the first 18 months I used the inflatable followed by a kingspan lid but neither were a good option.I also have a Oxford fabric furniture cover for the top for extra insulation and rain protection and recently treated this with Fabsil Gold for extra waterproofing.I have a box for the pump unit which I built out of decking planks. The pump unit is pretty damn noisy even when just running on filter so this helps with the noise but doesn't make it anywhere near silent. The pump uses around 40W, the heater and pump combined around 1850W and the bubbles (heater turns off when this is on) around 600W.Getting the creases out of the liner is basically impossible and you will end up with some. After two years have starting getting bobbling in various places and I expect the liner may fail eventually, hoping at least next year or later.I also stuck with mammoth tape some industrial strength magnets on the lining (the side not in the pool) which allows underwater LED lights to be attached. But don't leave these in all the time as it makes them go wrong, I just attach them up when getting in. A nice bonus that you can't do with inflatables. When empty, I put dehumidifier packs in there which soaks up some moisture and helps prevent mould. Some water does seem to get in with all of the lids I have used but I am hoping my recent waterproofing of the lid will resolve this. Emptying it is a pain, getting those last bits out, I use towels and have to keep wringing them out. Use recommended hot tub flush and cleaners to clean the tub.Keeping the levels right is a continuous thing and I find that often the PH and Alkalinity are a bit low and getting them up is a constant fight. I rinse the filter every time we have the bubbles on (filter turns off when bubbles are on so it's a good time for a rinse from the outside tap) and then I soak the filters in a bit of washing powder and thoroughly rinse before reusing, replacing completely based on visual inspection. It's a bit annoying that the filter is inside the tub and it can get knocked off fairly easily (but it's meant to rather than damage the liner). It's a great tub and glad I paid the extra and went for this over an inflatable, but there is a bit of work involved, they are not effort free but look after it and it will last a few years hopefully.
