I bought this as a replacement for a hob top frying pan.This probably replaces 90% of the need to keep getting the pan out.For basics like bacon, burgers, lamb fillets etc I use no oil as it’s really not necessary.If I’m cooking something like steak, I marinade it with olive oil and herbs first to improve cooking, texture and flavour.I then just drop it straight onto the grill with the oil infused.The stat does cycle but isn’t a problem for me as I generally cook on setting’s 3 or 4.When I unboxed it, there was a little bit of unevenness on its feet, but that seems to have straightened out with use and it’s solid now.After a week of use it’s showing no signs of losing its non-stick but you must only use soft cloths or sponges with a little soap.There really isn’t any need to use a scouring pad on it as it cleans easily.The “Judge” logo has rubbed off the drip tray (see picture) but that’s hardly an issue really.All in all, I’m happy with it as a first time purchase and it will be interesting to see how it lasts over the next few months.

My NFA (new favourite appliance!) this grill was purchased after I’d used one belonging to a friend on a camping trip recently. It’s so incredibly versatile and will cook anything from bacon and eggs to Nasi Goreng. I use it in place of frying or griddle pans because of its size and ease of cleaning - wipe it down with kitchen roll while still warm and the only thing left to wash is the capture tray underneath (after I’ve donated the meat juices to my ever grateful dog). It heats up almost instantly and is big enough to cook an entire breakfast for four in one go. Love it, love it, love it and can’t recommend it highly enough, especially given what good value it is.

Does everything it states quick easy to use and easy to clean

Great hot plate, I bought it for the sole purpose of doing pancakes for my kids and it definitely does the job. Easily cleaned and no mess.

This is perfect for our motorhome as it is not too large and particularly not too heavy at about 1/2 a Kilo. Not used yet for cooking but testing it, it does get very hot and therefore should cook really well, especially as it is temperature controlled. The only gripe I have is that the feet are too short to protect surfaces from heat damage, thus I have made a modification to make them longer (about 40mm extra by using 2 x 15mm copper piping T piece and a piece of copper pipe to join them together to make it very stable, along with a rubber bung pressed into one end of each T piece to make a rubber feet. The other end of the T piece fits nicely into the existing feet as a push fit, they can then be subsequently removed for storage. This Mod will raise the heating element further from the surface, thus protecting it better. So, be aware of this because you could end up scorching your work tops. Overall, this is a great product and should meet my needs perfectly.Handy tip for cleaning the hot plate, place a couple of sheets of kitchen towel on the hot plate, soak with water to make them damp, heat up until it steams, leave for a few seconds, then turn off, wipe off when it’s cooled down to just warm and it will be spotless again.

Easy to clean, doesn’t take up much room. However, the thermostat is awful. Heat it up, put food on, temperature drops and cooking stops. Turn up the temperature and it goes really hot, then same thing happens. Probably okay for doing eggs and bacon, but this is, sadly, as far as it goes for me. You get what you pay for I guess?
