Audien ATOM PRO 2 Wireless Rechargeable OTC Hearing Aid, Premium Comfort Design and Nearly Invisible

The first Hearing Aids I purchased were not well received due to multiple reasons. My 90 year old mother had trouble inserting the tiny device with her arthritically mangled fingers, while inadvertantly pressing the volume buttons. There was feedback and other un-natural sounds. The insert in the package instructed one to call the company and not return them to Amazon. I followed that advice and after speaking with the company I agreed to try a better model, The Audien ION pro. Happily I can report a major difference. The ION pro (over/outside the ear model) exhibited NO FEEDBACK, NO METALLIC NOISES. They were easy for Mom to put on and since they are Bluetooth controlled, I was able to adjust and set them on her phone. She says that they work well and the road noise in the car is not overly loud like previous devices. Right now we are using them on the lowest volume setting. Very Happy with our purchase and the company is definately focused on customer service. Everyone I spoke with at Audien was interested in helping me obtain a product that would work well for my 90 year old Mother. Thank you Audien for caring about your customers, it is a refreshing change from the usual companies that don't. All the other choices were way more expensive. The only negative is the bluetooth is a little wonky until it connects (you have to be close) but once they're setup you don't really have to mess with the settings. She wears them for hours at a time without any discomfort. She also can wear her glasses without issues.

These worked great, and the sound quality was exceptional. I loved everything about them, unfortunately my ear canal openings are very small and prevented them from remaining secure in my ear during strenuous activity. The customer support at Audien is great, they fully understood my problem, and authorized the return with no problem. A few moments after I had gotten off the phone, the young lady I had spoken to called back to offer to swap the Atom Pro 2s even up for the Audien IONs, which have a significant price difference. Great people, great products, and great service.

Audien Atom Pro 2 hearing aid is the best ITE hearing aid I own. These are all the pro features I like.1. Sound clarity is better than all the other hearing aids I have with the convenience of ITE.2. Mode function is very helpful and works better than all my other hearing aids, I can use the TV mode when I want to hear all my surrounding noises and outdoor mode when I am outdoor using my lawn equipments.3. Convenience button for changing mode and volume level.4. A small rechargeable case that come with UV light and can recharge the hearing aid 3-4 times But normally I never required to recharge my hearing aid because the battery last all day long (16 hours +)I would give Audien ATOM PRO 2 a 5 stars if it is not ITE type hearing aid which personally I don't fell that it is quite as comfortable to wear all day long as the BTE/RIC type hearing aid, but for people that prefer ITE hearing aid, this hearing aid is worth every $.P.S. I replaced my hearing aid ear dome from silicone type that come with the unit with foam type ear dome and it felt better in my ear canal and helps isolate the noise better as well.

The best that I have found for these amplifiers is for watching TV. I'm nearly completely deaf in my right ear, but still have reasonable hearing in my left. I have an implanted BAHA device for my right ear and would likely need to think about getting a hearing aid for my left ear a some point in the future. I wanted to try out one of the less expensive personal hearing amplifiers to see how they worked for me at this stage. I did some online research and decided on the Audien ATOM PRO 2s because there were some good reviews. I'm somewhat "underwhelmed" by the results. On most environment settings, there was too much "mouth noise" feedback (meaning I was able to hear myself chewing, swallowing, coughing and talking), and that came across as very irritating and distorted any external sounds, including conversations. I tried all the settings at a number of volume settings and couldn't eliminate that very unnatural "internal" mouth noise. The other irritating sound that seems accentuated by the ATOM PRO 2s is sibilance (like running water, scraping metal chair across concrete). Those noises come across far louder than other sounds. The only environment that I find them helpful in is for watching TV. Since wearing them, I can clearly hear dialog on TV at a considerably lower volume (for example, on a scale from 1 to 20, I went from a 14 down to an 8). Unfortunately, not a very cost effective item to purchase just to hear what's on TV better.They're easy to use, small and are relatively comfortable to wear for a few hours. Inserting them takes practice because of the proximity feedback issue, but if you don't need to fiddle with them a lot, a bit of squawking feedback is irritating, but I can deal with that. As mentioned before, not a great all-purpose solution for someone with moderate to less-than-moderate hearing loss, but does work for specific sound environments, like transmitted sounds (radio, TV, movies).
