Klean-Strip® Green™ Muriatic Acid, 1 Gallon

Excellent product!I purchased this for removing hardware stains from calcium build up in the bottom of a toilet.A little bit of the product works wonders, I poured it in directly into the water in the bottom of the bowl, came back after letting it sit all day while I was at work and voilà, makes your porcelain throne look brand new again, without damaging it.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:After researching what would work on our toilet, which had severe staining, I believe iron, but unsure, and hiring a professional cleaner who did nothing to help the toilet bowl...plus my husband stated the toilet smelled like urine all the time, I purchased Muriatic Acid. It did not disappoint. I poured a cup or two into the toilet, and it started working immediately. The before picture shared, was when I remembered to get a picture and about 30 to 60 seconds after I had already poured the acid into the toilet. I am interested to see if maintaining a clean toilet, weekly, will now keep the staining at bay.

I went through 4 gallons of the new safe Drano Mas Gel that is useless. Let the Drano set for 24 hours on the last gallon and nothing. The old stuff use to smell and smoke, the new stuff is useless. I read an article that mentioned Muriatic acid so I tried it. Bingo, drain totally opened up with 1 quart of the gallon. Would definitely purchase again. Came fast and damage free, packaged well.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:We use this for our pool. It does the trick and the price is great.

I just installed a swimming pool and didn’t really know what I was buying. This says not to use it in pools but I took the chance and it works great. My pool is 12,000 gallons and I have found that it lowers the pH .2 for every one cup used. My pool is saltwater so it uses a lot of acid.

This stuff worked extremely well to make fast again a slow drain I had been battling for weeks. Rounds and rounds of Drano and electric drain snaking, and yet still the bathroom sink drained very slowly. Then I realized the problem wasn't an organic blockage in the pipes that would be amenable to Drano, but likely a hard water constriction caused by 10 years of hard water deposits on the interior of the PVC pipe.I did some research on hard water dissolving substances and learned that hydrochloric acid is highly effective but on the dangerous side, and that muriatic acid can be just as effective but with less risk involved.What I did was first prepare the pipe's hard water to be more easily dissolved with an electric kettleful of boiling water, then poured about one cup of this muriatic acid diluted in about three cups of water down the drain, then waited 30 minutes, then rinsed with another kettleful of boiling water. The drain is now lightning fast again!

Very watery diluted blend. hydrochloric acid is a better choice available at most janitorial supply stores in your community.
