A brilliant album, now with EXTRA Brilliance 🙌 👌
I'm thrilled to bits with this compilation, so I'm maybe the wrong person to ask about favourite tracks ( I change my mind often on that). Suffice to say that it's as good as it promised to be, a classic set of moods & original arrangements to treasure.

A diamond of a box set.
Long been one of my favourite Prince albums because I was old enough to remember when it was out the first time around. I still have my original CD of this album and when I found out they’d given it the box set treatment I had to own it. The Sign O’ The Times CD deluxe box set was one of my best purchases to date and this now sits proudly on top of it.Very impressed that the cardboard packaging that came with this had the same motif as the album cover on it. It’s a great box set and I love that they made the CD box set a 12” size. The artwork inside the box is fab and there are some great pictures of His Royal Badness from the time. All in all this is a very comprehensive box set. Perhaps not regarded in quite high esteem as some of his other eras. I think he was still at his peak in this era. I’ve yet to listen and watch everything but great that they’ve included 3 hours of video from the era including the Special Olympics concert and sound check (talk about comprehensive) as well as the Diamonds & Pearls video collection (which I bought as a separate DVD years back).Delighted to see they included Violet the Organ Grinder, which is one of the best songs from this era. A variation on Gett Off, which itself is still one of Prince’s best jams. They have spoiled us here with 47 previously unreleased recordings and the damn near 10 minute mix of Gett Off.Having listened to the remastered Diamonds & Pearls album I think they’ve done a good job. I didn’t think the original needed remastering but the remaster of the album thankfully hasn’t been a victim of the loudness wars. The singles from Diamonds including the title track and aforementioned Gett Off were amongst his best work in my view. Cream still holds up as do Money Don’t Matter 2 Night, Thunder and Strollin.’An ideal gift for a Prince fan.
