STOP! Trying to use anything else... THESE WORK!!! USE THEM!!!
Should you happen to be afflicted with a location susceptible to rodents... such as vermin called "ROOF RATS"...THESE ARE YOUR ONLY OPTION!!!I've tried live traps, caught 2. I've tried poison. Live traps? Well, where do you let them out?THESE TRAPS ARE THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED AND RID MY HOUSE OF THOSE STRUCTURAL DAMAGING VERMIN!!Not a PEEP, nibble, scratch, scurry, or unforeseen nibbled upon labels in the pantry SINCE!!(I haven't had to discard pantry items for A LONG TIME NOW!!!)

Definitely works
I caught a big fat rat and it was disgusting but now it’s gone! I only set out 3 traps along the same wall. One was set but missed and second one did the job. I feel bad I had to kill the big guy but it was an instant death. I don’t use poison due to having outdoor critters I don’t want to make sick.

Great traps
Can't beat these tried and true rat traps. Set 7 traps out the day they came in and all 7 traps worked. I've tried every rat trap available and these are most effective.

Kills but doesn’t trap
It’ll whack the bejesus out of any rat, but it didn’t trap anything unfortunately. They will just die slowly with their eyes hanging out somewhere after being clubbed by this thing.

Easy to bait and set.

It works
I do not understand the negative reviews. This thing is a "rat" trap, but it handily catches both rats and small mice. It has adjustable sensitivity which is rare for most traps (slide the trigger wire left or right), and it can be reused several times.

Not well made for enduring use.
With the yellow pedal facing away from you, the brad that holds the right side of the spring axle comes out with use. If you're handy you can make your own U-shaped brad that goes through the trap to be secured on the bottom by turning each piece 90° so it won't pull out. Also - - have had several of the yellow trigger pads broken in use. I use traps for chipmunks and European Starlings trying to make nests under an overhang on the roof. Best results for birds is to attach 5 or 6 traps next to each other on a board and putting the board in area where birds walk. Overall the traps are effective for starlings and chipmunks. May harm small pets. Springs may rust if used in rainy areas but rust doesn't affect performance. I recommend these traps if used with caution.
