Great espresso machine, I love it so far
Overall I'm really happy with this machine. I've had it for over a month and no issues with it working, frothing milk, and just making great lattes time after time. I even make 3 in a row for the family and it handles the use well. I like the variety of pods, and the greater volume of coffee in my cup. Make sure to use a large cup the first time. I use the Stanley 12 ounce camp cups and it fills it up perfectly. Quality of coffee is on par with coffee shops in my opinion and absolutely delicious.I had an older version, the original line with attached milk frother that always felt like too little coffee. As someone who switched to Nespresso 5 years ago, I was used to Starbucks lattes and regular coffee, so it was never enough with just one cappuccino. I'd be having two a day to get the mouthfeel and volume I wanted. With the vertuo I get a large latte with the double espresso and coffee pods. I really like the half caff pods because that's the one thing about this machine, there's a lot of caffeine in each pod so watch out for that.In terms of design, it's well done, looks very fancy on my countertop. I like how easy it is to use and clean, you just need to empty out the pods and water that gets in the pod container. I empty the used pods and water there every day and clean the bit of coffee that drips in the stand for the cups. The only design flaws I worry about is:- when you add the pods and press down and turn the top, it feels like you are applying a lot of pressure which makes me think it might break at some point-the milk container floats when attached. It's a bit wobbly, so far absolutely no issues, but I think I'd design the container to touch the countertop for stability. With Nespresso in the news about the leaking machines I would have worried about this purchase but since I had one that worked for over 5 years, I figured I'd take the chance and so far I'm really glad I did. There's nothing like coffee shop lattes every morning at home. :)

Good Machine. Note: Uses Vertuo Pods
This is my first Nesspresso machine, so a few notes from a first-timer:- It uses the 'Vertuo' pods. They're the new generation of pods and slightly more expensive than the original pods (I didn't realize there were two types when I purchased the machine). It makes great coffee but I really can't tell a difference for the price.- Like other reviewers, I noticed the lattes are not very hot. Espresso temperature is fine, but I need to give the lattes ~20 sec. in the microwave.- The detachable milk frother is a great idea and it works well. Super easy/practical to detach the milk unit and store in the fridge between uses.- The whole set-up is compact and doesn't take up much counter space.Overall I'm very pleased with this machine. I would definitely recommend!

PERFECT CUP EVERY TIME with no muss, no fuss
My sister told me about this machine and gushed over its qualities. I admit I was skeptical, but I was also ready to try something new as I was tired of spilling coffee grounds all over my kitchen counter as I transferred them to my coffee maker, and the whole rigmarole of making a cappuccino at home was wearing on me too. I was also ready to be disappointed as I am much pickier than my sister, particularly when it comes to crema on espresso and the quality of the foam for steamed milk. Well, I have to say, I was blown away! You can tell I'm 65 right? Does anyone say "blown away" anymore? Well, I was. As you can see in the photo, the crema is perfect, and so is the steamed milk (even though I use full-fat milk rather than the part skim as recommended by the manufacturer). Be warned, there is a bewildering array of coffee's available for this machine and they all have fancy Italian-sounding names that you may find hard to remember. However, be bold and try the lot. I have yet to have a bad cup, though I have to say my favorites so far are "Stormio" for a regular cup of coffee that can stand up to steamed milk, and "Altissio" for smooth flavorful espresso to be consumed as is. Yum!Although the quality of the coffee and foamed milk is this machine's most important features, I should also say that De'Longhi has managed to manufacture a foolproof experience! Honestly, there is nothing that can be done to improve this product. The only concerning thing about this machine was its delivery. It was on my front porch when I came home with the box open and a couple of parts spilled out. The machine had been mailed in the store box, rather than being placed inside a protective outer box. Not a good idea. Fortunately, all the parts were there and the internal package was good enough that the machine did not get damaged. I was amazed again. Still, it is an expensive machine and should have been packed inside a mailing box for extra protection. Just saying.
