Great hair color
Love the color long lasting and looks like salon quality but at a much better price comes with easy instructions covers the grey well and makes your hair soft and shiny looks natural it doesn't look fake like a lot of hair colors do this is a definite winner for me the only product I will ever use and I have tried other products out there but always come back to this one a very happy customer.

5CB Pulls Red on Reds
Just used the 5CB Medium Chestnut Brown last night and it’s not exactly the color I wanted but I knew the risk I was taking going in and I don’t hate it. The formula for this is runny and does drip, so watch out for those white counters and rugs. The color result is redder than I wanted but the box does indicate it can pull red for redheads so that’s on me, I should’ve gone for a fully cool toned brown. Perhaps this was due more to the quality of my sun bleached hair and general dryness, but it was striking during application how much my hair texture became like straw. I expected to follow up with my usual hair repair methods (Amika RX) but to my surprise, the provided conditioner more than restored the texture to a soft state. Attached some pictures with side by sides, befores on the left. I think I’ll prefer the color in a week or two when it inevitably fades a shade. I have a handful of grays toward the crown and this fully covered those, however, I can’t yet attest to longevity of the coverage.**Update**I used and reviewed this dye in October, it is now December and I have added an additional update picture (roughly 2.5 to 3 months after application). I was correct that the faded shade is what I’m most happy with, especially once the ends lightened up, which happened probably by week 3 or 4. Gray coverage is excellent though my growth seems to already be showing so I’m spotting silvers again. Red tone is lasting very well and I’m happy, just gotta find some sort of root touch up now. Overall a recommend for the lasting color, but I will mention that my hair is much much dryer over the last couple months than usual - I feel my hair usually “bounces back” after a dye (I tend to dye my hair once or twice a year only) and after this box it did not. So if your hair is chemically treated or severely damaged, I would look for a potentially gentler dye formula if there is such a thing. I am using deep conditioner treatments or a quality conditioner in the shower, but what seems to help most is a post shower cocktail: light spritz of Pacifica Silk Rice detangle spray, dime sized amount of JVN instant repair mask, a pump and a half of JVN blowout styling milk, and then the next day or morning 3-4 drops of the JVN nourishing shine drops (I also use Ouai hair oil but I’ve run out - and occasionally IGK mistress hydrating balm on the ends and before I ran out I’d frequently use the IGK Antisocial overnight dry mask which I can’t recommend enough lol)Best of luck to everyone on their hair journey :)

Dark soft mahogany brown
It's gorgeous! The color is absolutely amazing too. My hair is brown with beautiful redish highlights all over. Believe it or not, my husband did my hair and it looks beautiful. It's not dry either, it's very shiny, smooth and soft. My hair length is about shoulder length and we used 1 bottle but he also used a brush as well to brush it all over the roots. Especially where I was grey. It's a beautiful color. I highly recommend this product and color. I will continue with this color from now on. I love the mahogany color with the brown. It turned out better than going to the hairdresser and spending over $100. He did the same job, and it turned out amazing!

Still great!
Have been using Preference 7.5A Medium Ash Blonde for years but it got darker so I changed to another brand new product but they discontinued it. Went back to Preference but it looked different, lighter & reviews were not as good. Just tried it and I'm very happy with the lighter color but still not covering all my resistant gray on my very short nape & sideburns Pixie cut, even with adding 1 No Gray. I'll try 2 No Gray next time & leave it on 5 mins longer. Careful it's very runny which is messy. No itching though! Smells the same not bad though. But I still trust it better than other brands!

Preference by Loreal - Extra Light Natural Blonde LB01
This is actually a Very Beautiful Blonde Shade. It is not too yellow but for me, my orange highlights came out. The blend looked nice, but I did want to stay away from the orange highlights. I didn't want to go to Extra Light Ash Blonde LB01 because in the Cream Excellence line made my hair have a grayish hue. Not bad, but made my hair look dull. I would rather have had the LB02 look than a dull look. I decided to try the LB01 in the Preference line, so I will have to see how that one compares to the Cream Excellence line. If that doesn't work for me, I will either go back to LB02 or go Ash Blonde 9.5 which I know will be darker for my hair, but still blonde and take away the grayish hue because it is darker and same goes for the orange hue in 02. All of Loreal Colors are nice, but due to our own hair and highlights, you won't always get the color you want, so bottom line is you need to experiment and you will likely end up having to trim your hair some due to the ends taking the heat quite literally. I love this color, I just wish my orange highlights would have behaved and didn't. So trying Preference LB01 Extra light ash blonde and see if the grayish hue is less and if not just give in and do 9.5 Ash Blonde in the Preference Line which will be darker, but should resolve my orange issue or too much gray issue because is is darker. I have experimented quite a lot during the pandemic and think I have things figured out. You could always bleach to strip the color and then color, but too me that is too hard on your hair. I have baby fine hair. Preference does have dimension to the color which I really like, the cream excellent didn't have that dimension. So practice makes perfect for you and it sure beats paying a lot at the salon. Cutting and trimming, get yourself a good set of shears and check out videos on You Tube, don't be afraid to try coloring or cutting because that is how you learn and your hair will always grow back. Tip on that, Use the Vitamin Hair, Skin and Nails by either Naturello or Vitafusion. Vitafusion is a gummy, really tasty, not expensive and I have really noticed how great it helps my hair grow and repair itself being baby fine which in itself is tough but these vitamins really nip the right ingredients in them for hair growth. I also noticed my nails growing like crazy, my skin has always been nice, but my hair would never grow and my nails would bend over backwards even using Sally's hard as nails, so try that as well so you can keep your hair healthy as you experiment. You will be glad you did when you save money not going to the salon. Get your own cute little cap, and tools, make it fun and don't worry. This pandemic I have read has been hard on our hair due to stress and many have reported hair falling out. So if your going to loose hair, let it be you experimenting, not this miserable virus.
