Rothco 8512: Stainless Steel Canteen Cup and Cover Set

I like the fact that this item is affordable, and the lid fits very securely on top of the canteen cup.It is notable that I am an infantry veteran, and have used these out in the field before.This gives me a perspective about the durability and quality of the product.

Didn't wanna use old gear for stuff I'm gonna be eating or drinking. Steel so no worries of melting in a fire. Holds the canteens just fine. Just wish they engineered somewhere for the lid to go when it's got a bottle in the cup. For now I just have it sit on top of the lid cause it slots into that spot fine. The little loop gets in the way but it's good enough. I don't know how people aren't comprehending the handles it's almost self-explanatory.

This is a nice canteen cup. The lid fits nicely and it is sturdy. Small tip, when you boil water in it on an open flame, don’t expect the lid to fit back in place until it is no longer hot.

The quality of this canteen cup and lid is great for heating food or liquid such as soup or coffee.

I purchased this cup and lid set as a simple cook kit to carry on light hikes. It's lightweight, but well constructed. The lid fits well and the handles function properly allowing one to manipulate the cup over the stove or flame without fear of burning hands. Definitely a good value! I have purchased a second set to have on hand.

This is a heavy duty canteen cup & cover set that nests perfectly with my 1L Nalgene Canteen. There is a stopper bar on one of the butterfly handles to ensure that the handles fit perfectly. The cover fits snugly. My set has a matte rather than shiny finish. My big gripe is the mediocre quality control. There are smudges of machine oil/grim around the riveted handle of the lid. I wiped the residue off and then washed this set in the dishwasher twice to get rid of this oily residue. Rothco should have a better process to clean up this residue before packaging the set for sale. Who wants to get dirty set when it is intended for holding food or drink? my other minor gripe is that the edges of the cup and cover are a bit sharp so be careful about sliding your mouth/fingers on the sharp edges. Rothco should have rolled the edges more to eliminate the sharp edges. Had I seen this set in person, I may not have purchased it.
